Golden duo of akaAT
Behind a product is always a silent silhouette of technology engineers who day and night struggle with ideas to develop and improve the product. Vu Trung Kien and Nguyen Ba Hoang Son are two of many such engineers at IVS and FSOFT.
Participating in the project from the very beginning, after a year, the Technical Leaders of akaAT – Mr. Vu Trung Kien and Nguyen Ba Hoang Son – are still excited about their first days.
Sharing about the journey to join the project, Mr. Son said that “Previously, I worked for SU11, CME and a few other units with expertise in implementing and consulting on how to apply automation in projects at FSOFT. After a long time working, I have a desire to find a solution to improve tester productivity with an easy and effective automation platform. The fate came at the beginning of 2020 when I started to learn more about this field and agreed to participate in the project to develop akaAT test automation tool. For me, that was a very new journey when I participated in making a product for the first time.”
Unlike Mr. Son, Mr. Kien said that “I started participating in about November 2020. I learned about the product through a friend who is also on the akaAT development team. After hearing about the product, I immediately accepted the request to join because I had always wanted to participate in a product that helps increase productivity like akaAT.”

When asked about the difficulties at work, Mr. Kien said that “There are many difficulties. Mostly it’s user-related issues, like how to meet most requirements, build user-friendly features, how to build scalable products of high stability”.
Anh Son said that “Each project will have its specificity and need certain features. Sometimes the tool cannot meet them all. The difficulty here is to design so that the tool can still be combined with other solutions to complete its assigned tasks.
Regarding the difficulty of working together, Mr. Son said that “Me and Mr. Kien also had fierce arguments at times. However, after each heated exchange of words, we met again to go out for iced tea and talk to come up with the solutions. It must be admitted that the job is so smooth, partly because of Mr. Kien’s personality. Compared to the people I’ve worked with before, Mr. Kien can be called an ‘angel’.”
In the future, we both expect the akaAT solution suite to be used more widely. We want to build a strong community and get more valuable feedback from FSOFTers to help improve the product.
