“The more difficult, the rarer the certificate, the harder I try!”
This week, let’s listen to a very “real” story by Ms. Le Thi Hoa (FQC.JP.HN) – a young girl who has the desire to obtain the CSQA certificate.
Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) is the only certification for QA positions, demonstrating the professionalism of a QA-er in understanding and instilling knowledge and principles of quality management such as management systems. What is quality value, why should it be established, methods and tools to operate…
Hearing from a colleague that “only a few people at FSOFT own this certificate, it’s very difficult”, Ms. Hoa got even more motivated to get it.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the CSQA certification exam is difficult, because the main document for exam preparation – CBOK, has a lot of abstract content with a huge amount of vocabulary and terms in English. Therefore, this certificate not only requires QA students to have solid knowledge and practice on quality management, but also to possess the ability to read, understand and write fluently in English. In addition to the 100 multiple-choice questions in the CSQA exam, test takers also have to complete 12 essay questions within 70 minutes. So besides the general knowledge for the multiple-choice part, there is the writing part, which can be many times more “difficult”.
It can be said that this certification exam is really a big challenge for Ms. Hoa due to her limited English. “Thanks to the enthusiastic guidance of Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (FQC.GO) and QA colleague, I was able to calm down when I knew my own weaknesses and worked hard to improve them. I was so happy when I heard that I had passed the certification exam. It is a blessing to have everyone at FSOFT join hands to support”, she shared.
In addition, Ms. Hoa also participated in studying and reviewing in CTC’s classes, where she was enthusiastically guided by a team of trainers. As she registered for the exam through CTC, she was also refunded 100% of the test fee after passing it.
Here are some secrets that Hoa shares with those who are eager to obtain CSQA:
- Tip 1: Keep your fighting spirit! Find yourself a mentor and “like-minded” teammates so you don’t get discouraged and can stay motivated to review every day. Ms. Hoa studied with 7 friends and took the exam with 2 friends to be mentally strong before and during the test.
- Tip 2: NPlease answer list up the main points and explain them clearly for the writing part if you have limited English. There is no need to memorize everything by heart. You can just choose simple words to express the best ideas.
- Tip 3: Read to understand the prompt clearly. Write the essays using your real work experience.
- Tip 4: Be sure to master 100% of the multiple choice questions before taking the exam.
