PM Contest 2024 Finals: Expectations for innovative and practical solutions
“Productivity Up” is a key challenge for FSOFT and the overarching theme of PM Contest 2024 – the intellectual battleground for project management teams over the past nine years. Ahead of the contest’s final round, Mr. Vu Tien Dat, FSOFT’s CDO, expressed his hope that each PM (Project Manager) will act as an ambassador, driving the application of AI in work, fully utilizing the lessons from the contest in real-world projects to deliver the highest value to both the projects and clients.
As FSOFT joins the ranks of billion-dollar companies and gradually affirms its world-class status globally, expectations from clients continue to grow. Clients expect higher productivity, quality, and tangible value with each project. On its billion-dollar journey spanning 25 years, FSOFT’s teams have embodied the “One Team” spirit, working closely together to overcome key milestones, build trust with clients, and consistently secure significant business contracts. At the core of these accomplishments are the skillful project leaders who steer each project to success.
Along with the PM Community, PM Contest has completed nearly nine seasons, nurturing the success of thousands of PMs. The contest provides “newbie” PMs with invaluable lessons that become essential tools for their management careers, while seasoned veterans gain renewed energy and motivation to continue winning major battles in the field.
Tomorrow, September 27, the final round of PM Contest’s ninth season will take place in Da Nang, gathering the six best teams from FSU and OB units. The finalists are: Möbius (FHN & FQC), Firestorm (FHN & FQC), ND2 (GPE), 7UP (FHM), Big Hit (FHM), and CAA (FJP). The presence of teams from major FSOFT locations – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Japan – in this year’s final shows the level of competition and commitment each team has invested in PM Contest. FSOFT’s CDO remarked that this reflects the fierce competition and dedication the teams have put into the contest.
Despite being in its ninth season, PM Contest remains as exciting as ever, serving as a meeting ground for project management talent from across FSOFT. PMs who have participated in the contest attribute its enduring appeal to the yearly transformations in competition format, content, and especially the themes, which are always aligned with FSOFT’s key challenges.
As in previous years, PM Contest 2024’s theme mirrors FSOFT’s overall strategic focus, particularly in the production division. Under the theme “UP: Level – Productivity – Value-Driven”, the invaluable project stories shared and dissected during this year’s PM Contest have played a part in driving the goal of a 15% productivity increase, boosting morale, and reinforcing strategies for PMs as they embark on their next projects.
In the final round, teams will draw lots and tackle six real-world FSOFT scenarios. CDO Vu Tien Dat urged the teams to focus on thorough research and discussions to propose specific, feasible solutions. “In the spirit of learning and sharing, I hope the teams will come up with actionable solutions, not just for the contest, but also applicable to large-scale, complex projects in the real world”, Mr. Dat emphasized.
With their experience handling challenging projects, a commitment to learning, and continuous adoption of new technologies, FSOFT’s head of production hopes that PMs will confidently tell clients, “My project team is comprised of the most qualified people, delivering products with the highest quality and productivity. More importantly, we will directly contribute to your revenue and profit growth”.
