FPT promotes collaboration with the Indonesian Government and Businesses in digital transformation and workforce development

Recently, Indonesia’s Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy, Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi, Chairman of the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) Arsjad Rasjid, and leaders of major Indonesian businesses such as Japfa Group, Indika Group, Nutricell, Prasetia Dwidharrma, and BRI Ventures visited FPT to discuss collaboration opportunities in digital transformation and workforce development.

The two sides held in-depth discussions to expand cooperation in digital transformation, focusing on sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and the development of young talent.

One of the key proposals was to establish a joint working group involving representatives from the government, businesses, and experts to build a semiconductor ecosystem and promote digital transformation across several sectors in Indonesia.

The delegation also explored collaboration opportunities with FPT in developing training programs to nurture a future-ready skilled workforce. As a pioneering technology corporation in Vietnam, FPT is focusing on education to build a high-quality talent pipeline for advanced technology sectors such as AI and semiconductors, meeting the workforce needs not only for Vietnam but also for the global market.

At the event, FPT Chairman Trương Gia Bình shared that, based on FPT’s experience in implementing digital transformation for various provinces in Vietnam and businesses globally, FPT is ready to share its knowledge and become Indonesia’s strategic partner in creating a digital economy for the people, with a foundation built on data, AI, chips, and human development.

Echoing the sentiment, Minister Rachmat Pambudy expressed admiration for the determination and efforts of Vietnam, particularly FPT, in the digital transformation process, stating that this spirit is exactly what Indonesia needs to drive the comprehensive digital transformation revolution. “What you are nurturing and working on with all your heart is what Indonesia needs today,” he said, further affirming that FPT is the “game changer” he seeks to accompany Indonesia in its new digital transformation era.

Mr. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Business Council (IBC), emphasized the pivotal role of chips in advancing other sectors such as electric vehicles and ESG. He expressed hope that Indonesia could build a chip ecosystem through collaboration with neighboring countries like Vietnam. “We are very impressed with what Vietnam and FPT are creating, not only in technology but also in people. We want to collaborate with Vietnam in this field, and the creation of a joint working group is the ideal initiative to make this goal a reality,” Mr. Arsjad Rasjid shared.

This visit builds on the successful partnership between FPT and its Indonesian partners. Recently, FPT signed a framework agreement with KMP Aryadhana, a leading innovation cooperative in Indonesia, to promote the application of advanced technologies over the next five years. The corporation is also deploying advanced AI solutions for Pertamina, Indonesia’s largest oil company. Since entering the Indonesian market in 2017, FPT has been accompanying major enterprises on their digital transformation journeys, spanning energy, banking, finance, and telecommunications. Currently, FPT has over 200 technology specialists working at two major offices in Indonesia, with plans to open a third office later this year.
