HackAIthon: A marathon where perseverance and discipline are the key factors

Balancing work with the race against the challenges posed by HackAIthon, teams from SCM, FINDIA, and GIF make use of every hour and every minute to complete their products on time. Like a true marathon, beyond the technical problems from the competition, perseverance is the ultimate test for these “hackers.”

In 2025, FSOFT is not only betting on AI as a work tool, but is also seeing it as the future of the enterprise – the main driving force behind everything from business operations to internal processes. FSOFT’s Chairwoman, Chu Thi Thanh Ha, affirmed that the only way to master AI is to learn by doing. This is the motivation behind the birth of HackAIthon, and the opportunity for teams to “play for real, work for real” with AI – a technology that is reshaping every industry trend globally.

SCM was assigned the “Virtual Mic” topic – a tool to assist developers in communicating with clients without needing a translator. The SCM representative remarked that this challenge is both fascinating and testing, stimulating the team’s creativity. “It not only requires a solid foundation of technical knowledge but also demands creativity and breakthrough thinking in problem-solving”, shared by Mr. Le Xuan Sanh, leader of the SCM team.

Meanwhile, Shreyansh Kuppanatti, representing FINDIA, was especially impressed by the balance between the challenge’s difficulty and its openness: “We’re not just optimizing an existing solution – we also have the opportunity to rethink the entire approach, which truly inspires and motivates our team to strive even harder”. Echoing this sentiment, the GIF team also expressed excitement upon receiving their challenge, as “if we solve this problem, it will help the company cut costs and improve the productivity of FSOFTers”.

With only 3 weeks to complete an entirely new product, each team drew up detailed plans tailored to the nature of their challenge and their respective workloads, making the most of AI at every stage. For FINDIA, the team collaborated with DXG, clearly dividing responsibilities among members from backend, frontend, to the overall solution, ensuring both progress and efficiency. As for SCM, since its members work at different sites, the team focused on assigning tasks based on each member’s strengths, using modern project management tools like Jira, organizing daily meetings and solution demos to maintain connection even when not meeting in person. Similarly, the GIF team divided the product into multiple phases, with each milestone having a deadline suited to the challenges set by the organizers.

HackAIthon is likened to a marathon, where discipline and perseverance are indispensable traits. Le Xuan Sanh, representing SCM, said: “The seamless coordination among members is crucial for us to complete the product on time. We respect each other’s opinions, are always ready to help one another, and work towards the ultimate goal of delivering the highest quality product”.

Currently, HackAIthon is entering its first qualifying round with products from 52 teams. With three weeks to conquer the challenge, what solutions will the teams bring? Follow Cucumber for updates on the teams’ journeys.
