GIF SME Hackathon 2025 honors outstanding AI solutions in the Finance – Insurance sector.

On July 8, 2025, the final round of the GIF SME Hackathon 2025 officially concluded at F-Complex in a vibrant, creative, and inspiring atmosphere. With the theme “AI First – AI Everywhere,” the event brought together six outstanding teams and a judging panel of top industry leaders and experts, creating a true technology playground for AI-driven solutions in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.

Now in its second year, the GIF SME Hackathon continues to affirm its position as a source of creativity and a nurturing ground for breakthrough ideas within the GIF SME community. This year’s theme, “AI and All Visionary Ideas in BFSI,” inspired teams to present highly applicable AI products focused on solving real-world challenges in the industry.

According to Head of the Organizing Committee, Ngo Tran Xuan Hao, the highlight of this year’s competition is its focus on practicality, scalability, and meeting real market needs—criteria that were given special attention by the judging panel.

After impressive presentations and intense competition, the contest honored the three most outstanding teams: Vuijet Air, Lazark, and smeornotsme.

With their solution TravelMate—a smart travel insurance assistant that helps users track their journeys, detect incidents, and automate the claims process—the Vuijet Air team impressed the judges with its creativity, practicality, and strong implementation potential. TravelMate not only enhances customers’ peace of mind but also contributes to the comprehensive digitalization of insurance services.

Lazark introduced a real-time fraud detection solution for e-wallets, which warns of risks before transactions occur, reduces losses, and optimizes operations through the power of AI. The solution was highly rated for its clear result explanations, providing a safe experience for both users and control officers.

The smeornotsme team made their mark with an AI voice assistant solution integrated into banking applications, enabling users to perform tasks such as inquiries, payments, and transactions entirely by voice. This solution aims to create a more user-friendly and accessible digital banking future for all customers.

In addition to the Top 3, the competition also recognized several other promising solutions, such as an AI assistant to simplify reading, comparing, and selecting insurance; an automated sales process system; and a customer data analytics solution for banks that connects relevant offers to the right customers, increasing promotional effectiveness and creating added value.

GIF SME Hackathon 2025 once again affirmed its role as a launchpad for pioneering AI ideas, driving digital transformation in the BFSI sector. More than just a technology competition, the event serves as a platform for connecting intelligence, passion, and innovation—shaping a fully digital future envisioned by talented members of GIF.
