Foreign Language – A Passport to Self Discovery
For many FSOFTers the opportunity to set foot in Japan one of FPT Software’s strategic markets is not only a source of pride but also a gateway to a journey of learning and personal growth. For Huỳnh Văn Công (GPE.GES) the Japan Experience 100 (JX100) program marked a special milestone where he lived worked and explored Japanese culture over more than two months.
Representing GPE in the first batch of JX100 were Nguyễn Đức Toàn and Huỳnh Văn Công. Upon learning he was selected Công recalled feeling “both excited and proud.” To him it was a valuable chance to challenge himself in a completely new environment improve adaptability and deepen his understanding of Japanese partners renowned for their high standards and strong sense of responsibility. His desire to experience the culture firsthand learn professional work practices and enhance communication skills motivated him to join the program.

To prepare for the trip Công spent significant time improving his Japanese especially daily conversation and IT related terminology. He studied Japanese culture and work etiquette through books films and experience sharing sessions with previous participants. Beyond language he focused on strengthening teamwork time management and logical thinking essential skills for thriving in a new environment. Still he admitted that language remained his biggest concern “Spoken Japanese has many nuances that books don’t fully convey but I tried to overcome that by practicing more and seeking support from colleagues.”


More than just technical knowledge Công saw JX100 as a journey to broaden his worldview. He hoped to learn from the Japanese their meticulousness sense of responsibility and effective work management values he could apply directly to FSOFT projects. “I believe that by understanding how Japanese clients work I’ll be able to communicate and collaborate more effectively which will help improve project quality” he shared. Living in a country with such a rich culture also helped him grow in mindset lifestyle and work perspective.
Reflecting on the experience Công saw himself not only as a learner but also as a source of inspiration for his peers. “After returning I want to share practical insights and lessons on culture and work skills. More importantly I hope the spirit of daring to challenge and stepping out of the comfort zone will spread to other young talents in the company” he said.
Achieving his long held dream of reaching the land of cherry blossoms Công described the journey as short but significant a major step in his career where he learned how to work live and most importantly expand his own limits. His message “Don’t fear difficulty don’t fear mistakes. Keep learning every day train proactively and prepare well to be ready for every opportunity.”
