Bringing warmth back to flood-stricken schools in Thai Nguyen
Nearly VND 300 million has been contributed by FSOFT employees and partnering organizations to Nui Voi Primary School and Chua Hang Secondary School in Thai Nguyen after the devastating floods caused by Storm No. 11. Amid water-stained walls and a schoolyard still marked with mud, warmth and kindness arrived just in time, bringing comfort and renewed smiles to teachers and students.
On November 22, the FSOFT volunteer team continued its “Standing with the Community After the Floods” journey, stopping at the two schools in Linh Son Ward most severely affected by Storm No. 11: Nui Voi Primary School and Chua Hang Secondary School. The traces of the disaster remain stark—faded, dampened walls, high water marks reaching above head level, and a schoolyard scattered with dried mud—each a reminder of the difficult days the teachers and students have just overcome.

In the midst of that scene, the visit from the FSOFT volunteer group, together with the Hanoi Traditional Medicine Association and the Thai Nguyen Traditional Medicine Association, lit up the spirit of compassion and solidarity. Every carefully prepared gift symbolized not only practical support but also heartfelt encouragement for those working tirelessly to rebuild their lives after the disaster.
During this donation trip, the volunteer team presented the two schools with 06 65-inch TVs, 04 printers, 02 high-power portable speakers, 01 projector, 07 sets of teaching-assistant speakers, and 1,380 gift packages containing school supplies, milk, and snacks, along with clothing and other essential goods, with a total value of nearly VND 300 million.
Ms. Pham Thi Linh, Principal of Nui Voi Primary School, shared that the floods submerged the entire campus by 1.5 to 1.7 meters. Many desks, chairs, documents, and books were heavily damaged because they could not be moved in time. “Storm No. 11 severely disrupted our teaching and learning activities. In those challenging moments, we were deeply moved to receive such timely and heartfelt support from FPT people.”

Beyond material assistance, the trip also carried a message of compassion—a defining value in FSOFT’s culture. Every gift, every handshake, and every exchanged smile helped strengthen the teachers’ and students’ confidence as they worked to regain stability after the disaster.
Mr. Luong Xuan Nghia, Principal of Chua Hang Secondary School, also expressed his gratitude: “These gifts not only help restore part of our damaged facilities but also motivate us to bring teaching and learning back to normal as soon as possible.”
For FSOFT, sharing does not lessen what we have—it warms someone’s day after the storm. And on this journey, the greatest gift the volunteer team received was the smiles of the teachers and students they came to support.
