FPT “joins hands” with Chelsea FC to connect the Chief of Staff Association community in the UK
Recently, FPT Great Britain (FGB), in collaboration with the Chief of Staff Association (CSA) and Chelsea Football Club, hosted an event to bring together Chiefs of Staff from businesses across the UK. The program combined an exclusive tour of Stamford Bridge with in-depth discussion sessions focusing on management and executive operations in global organizations—especially within professional sports.
Welcoming the guest delegation, FPT was represented by Mark Scrivens, CEO of FGB, and Nguyễn Thùy Liên, FGB Chief of Staff. The event attracted 24 well-known managers and leaders from the UK business community, including organizations that FPT has identified as potential partners in its next phase.
Designed as an intimate fireside-style conversation, the event aimed to broaden connections among FPT, CSA, and James Murray, Chief Operating Officer of Chelsea FC. It also provided an opportunity for FGB to introduce FPT— a global technology services provider— to the CSA community in the UK, alongside sharing insights into the strategic partnership between FPT and Chelsea FC to enhance the global football fan experience through breakthrough technology solutions. In doing so, the event helped reaffirm FPT’s strong position while strengthening ties with local businesses and professionals.

A highlight of the program was Mr. James Murray’s talk, offering practical perspectives on leadership in world-class sports environments—where speed of decision-making, adaptability, and strong coordination capabilities are essential. He shared compelling stories from his journey leading some of the world’s most renowned football clubs: from working in governance advisory roles to serving as Chief of Staff and Chief Strategy Officer, and then holding senior C-suite positions at Arsenal, AC Milan, and now as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Chelsea FC.

He also revealed the practical role of a Chief of Staff in the English Premier League environment, where it is crucial to “keep the rhythm” and balance long-term strategic development with the intense pace of Europe’s top competition. With attendees, Mr. Murray outlined the key requirements for transitioning into a COO role, as well as the most important criteria for a high-potential Chief of Staff in today’s context.
To conclude the program, all participants enjoyed an exclusive tour of Stamford Bridge, exploring the modern, world-class facilities of one of football’s most iconic venues.
