FPT advances GSPP Holding’s digital transformation across manufacturing operations in Malaysia

Global technology corporation FPT has signed an agreement with GSPP Holding Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia’s leading integrated paper and packaging manufacturer, to accelerate Oji paper and packaging plants in Malaysia with full-scale digital transformation in core operations, enabling a more agile, efficient, and AI-ready manufacturing organization.

At the core of the collaboration is the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, which modernizes how various plants manage their business operations end-to-end. FPT will lead this transformation using a Bluefield migration approach – a hybrid method that retains the speed of migrating the existing system as is while providing the flexibility to selectively redesign and simplify specific processes. FPT will lead this transformation using a Bluefield migration approach – a hybrid method that retains the speed of migrating the existing system as is while providing the flexibility to selectively redesign and simplify specific processes. Grounded in FPT’s track record of manufacturing transformations, this allows GSPP to modernize key workflows and preserve valuable historical data – reducing data debt and enabling improvement without a disruptive full-system overhaul.

Beyond the core SAP transformation, the agreement also covers the migration of existing RPA and e-invoicing systems to FPT’s proprietary solutions. These include the AI Agentic Automation platform Akabot, and the compliant electronic invoicing solution eInvoice, replacing both legacy systems with integrated and enterprise-ready tools.

“Demand for end-to-end enterprise transformation in the Malaysian manufacturing industry has increased rapidly, particularly around core system modernization and intelligent automation. Drawing on our expertise in SAP transformation and AI capabilities, along with know-how built from comparable projects, we look forward to replicating such success for GSPP, building a more smarter, agile manufacturing organization with AI-driven vision,” said Mr. Tran Hong Chung, Chief Executive Officer, FPT Malaysia, FPT Corporation.

“This is an important project for paper and packaging plants of Oji in Malaysia to transform into more efficient operations with manpower optimization, adoption of AI for revenue enhancement and better-quality business decision making,” said Fong Weng Meng, Chief Financial Officer of GSPP Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
