A steadfast foundation for bigger journeys ahead
After six years of participating in FPT Software’s home-gifting program at Vinhomes Smart City (Hanoi), Delivery Manager Vu Quang Hai (AMG.FFR) has fulfilled all commitments and officially received ownership of his apartment from the company. For Hai, this milestone represents not only the result of his personal journey of striving forward but also embodies the company’s unwavering support—a solid foundation and opportunity, enabling employees to confidently pursue their career aspirations.

In 2018, Vu Quang Hai was honored among FPT Software’s Top 100. A year later, he was selected for the company’s home-gifting program at Vinhomes Smart City, designed for 19 outstanding individuals. To Hai, this was not only a reward for his diligent efforts but also a stable base for his young family.
At 30, Hai began to think more seriously about the future and long-term plans. The apartment he chose, located in a modern urban area with ample amenities, had three bedrooms—a spacious setting aimed at a stable life. At that time, the home was more than just a valuable asset; it was a guarantee for his family’s peace of mind, a place to “settle down” and then build a career in the truest sense.

Later, during his extended assignment in France, the distance complicated paperwork and the process of transferring ownership. Yet what Hai remembers most is not the administrative hurdles, but the sense of reassurance, knowing that the company was always by his side, with HR providing timely support and handling matters thoroughly. He recalls the words of a leader: “If any issues arise, the company will share responsibility and ensure your rights are protected.” For Hai, this was clear proof that the company’s support wasn’t just in policies, but in the consistent fulfillment of commitments.
After six years, with annual bonuses helping offset the apartment’s value, Hai finally became its official owner. Yet what he treasures most is not simply “a house given,” but the journey that helped him mature, become more resilient, and more motivated to stay committed and give his best at work.

Hai’s journey with FPT began when he joined the company right after graduation. Like many young people entering tech, he started as a Fresher, progressing through roles as Developer, Team Lead, Project Manager, and currently Delivery Manager at FPT France. Looking back, he admits there was no perfect plan from the start—what kept him moving forward was his eagerness to learn, to try new things, and to work in an environment brimming with opportunities for growth.
After six months working with the Japanese market, Hai realized he was better suited to an English-speaking environment. He proactively discussed with his manager and requested a transfer to a unit that matched his career direction and personality. “Luckily, my managers and the company were supportive and gave me the chance to make a change. It was a turning point in my career—I was truly thrown into the deep end, molded and challenged in every way possible,” Hai shares with a smile.

Upon joining his new team, Hai was tasked with supporting a French expert in implementing innovative ideas through POC documentation. Although these early trials did not yield immediate, major results, they offered valuable lessons—how to work, how to ask questions, how to learn, and how to build confidence in a demanding environment.
A fond memory still lingers: a Frenchman and a Vietnamese, separated by a generation and language barrier, yet able to understand each other and achieve results. Whenever words failed, the expert would simply advise, “Go ask someone else.” So Hai went around, asking and learning from everyone, gradually becoming familiar with his colleagues. From those early days, he became part of the project rhythm: tense discussions, late-night bug fixes, and moments of teamwork in resolving client issues.
Yet, despite the pressure and deadlines, the unmistakable “FPT atmosphere” was always present. “Every workday was filled with laughter. To me, that’s FPT’s culture: balance between work and play. From high-spirited football matches to gatherings at local pubs, singing STCo songs together, or staying late to decorate the office for celebrations—whenever there’s fun to be had, everyone is ready to pitch in,” he says.

Soon after, Hai was assigned to a long-term onsite position in France—just as he had joined the home-gifting program. Instead of settling into his new apartment, he embarked on a new, more challenging journey, one that offered even greater opportunities for growth.
Working in France broadened his perspective on the capabilities of Vietnamese engineers. According to Hai, Vietnamese programmers are no less competent than their international peers; differences usually lie in communication, language barriers, and experience with large-scale systems. Collaborating with colleagues who had spent decades at a single company, he learned to see a system not just as code, but as part of a much larger operational ecosystem.
He also picked up lessons on adapting to life abroad. The early days in France were not easy—the market was new, the Vietnamese community was small, and he had to navigate everything from administrative procedures to daily life himself. Tips shared among colleagues—how to rent an apartment, register kids for school, which supermarket to find fish sauce or good rice—helped him feel less homesick. Then came COVID-19, and months of isolation in a foreign land left a mark. Through hardship, Hai developed self-reliance and adaptability—what he jokingly calls “survival skills,” though behind the light-hearted words were constant efforts to stay strong in a new environment.

Looking ahead, Hai hopes to continue his journey with FPT France, contributing to the unit’s goal of becoming a Tier 1 OB of FPT Software. He also wishes for more FSOFTers from Vietnam to come work in France, to share experiences, support newcomers in adapting quickly, and, as he jokes, “take them out for some… local delicacies to ease homesickness.”
From a fresh graduate eager to learn, to a Delivery Manager in Europe, Vu Quang Hai’s journey is a testament to personal growth in the FPT Software environment. Here, commitment is not built on grand promises, but fostered through every opportunity, every challenge, and every moment of trust and companionship. Some commitments take time to prove, and some choices become clearer the further you go—you realize you started at the right place, and you want to keep moving forward together.
