Besides, at FSOFT, it is considered that the working environment must be enjoyable. Despite the challenges and hardships, work also has to be fun. Therefore, the company have a culture of maintaining various clubs, activity groups, and even a dedicated department to take care of employees’ mental well-being. FPT Software’s business philosophy has always been: To work together, we must be able to have fun together and to find out if we can have fun together or not, there must be a place to show it.

With a workforce reaching tens of thousands of people, it is not surprising that at FSOFT, there are many employee groups with shared interests. To connect individuals with the same passions and hobbies, various clubs and groups with diverse themes and fields have been established, becoming a place for camaraderie among colleagues.

The variety of interest clubs at FSOFT is extensive, ranging from clubs focused on artistic activities such as music, dance, guitar, Yosakoi dance, to sports clubs like yoga, cycling, running, hiking, Vovinam clubs… or clubs that help employees enhance their skills and knowledge, such as English and Japanese language clubs.

While singing and dancing clubs are present in all 3 regions of FSOFT, there are also region-specific clubs of each region. In Hanoi, FSOFTers can participate in exciting clubs such as the Yosakoi Dance Club at FHN or the Vovinam Club at Hola Park.

As the oldest club at Hola Park, FDC (FSOFT Dancing Club) is a gathering place for FSOFTers who love dance. FDC is a familiar club not only at Hola Park but also at other sites, as the club has participated in performances at various FSOFT events as well as across the entire corporation. Currently, the main members of FDC still maintain their activity schedule every lunchtime at the Yoga room in F2, Hola Park.

Another club that FSOFTers see often at the company’s events is HMC (Hola Music Club), the home of music lovers. At HMC, members can indulge their passion for music, singing, and musical instruments. In addition to their weekly activities, every month, HMC holds a special offline session and quarterly birthday parties. The HMC leadership team also organizes team-building activities to strengthen the bond among club members.

Hola Running Club (HRC) is sure the most special club in this campus, with an undefined number of members. This club is simply for runners at Hola to connect and share their hobby. Since its official establishment in 2021, members of HRC have taken part in different running competitions of the company and the corporation, or taken part in challenges from FUN.

The “youngest” club at FSOFT so far is the Vovinam Club. With the aim to not only improve FSOFTers’ strength and self-defense skill, but the club also wants to make FSOFT a “spotlight” of this martial art.

Besides clubs for hobbies and skill, Hola Park also offer the Golf Club for FSOFTers who fancy this luxurious sport. The founding members of Golf Club embarked on a journey together by participating in a basic golf course organized by a professional instructor through FUN. The golf course at Hola Park serves as the weekly activity venue for the club.

Meanwhile, in the central of Vietnam, FSOFTers have a wide choice of clubs which are mostly “Zen” such as Yoga Club, Hiking Club, Fishing Club, or Hiking Club.

The Sea Fishing Club at FSOFT Danang, also affectionately known as “fishing enthusiasts,” is a gathering of FSOFTers passionate about the art of fishing. But do not let the name deceive you, as the club members include not only seasoned anglers who fish to pass the time but also young, well-equipped enthusiasts with a fervor for exploring different marine species. The club does not adhere to a fixed schedule but rather follows the weather conditions. Primarily, they embark on the bikes to the sea for fishing during the Summer and Autumn seasons when the sea and sky are at their best. Each fishing trip becomes a small outdoor excursion for the club members, providing them with an opportunity to unwind after stressful work hours.

Another relatively “young” club at FSOFT Danang is the Hiking Club, established in January 2023. It plays the role of connecting FSOFTers with a love for nature, a desire for physical exercise, and an interest in exploring beautiful locations and delicious eateries in Danang and Quangnam. Beyond hiking, the group has expanded its activities to foster camaraderie among members and contribute more value to the community. These activities include scenic walks, beach cleanups, leisure cycling, stand-up paddleboarding, exploring popular eateries, charitable initiatives, and more.

In FSOFT South, perhaps the club with the most frequent and longest-standing activities is the Yoga Club – Happy Yogi. Operating since 2017, the Happy Yogi Club has shown remarkable growth in the number of members. Starting with just 8-10 participants per session, the membership has now grown to 20 people, with sessions held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week. This has become a familiar haven for employees looking to maintain their fitness, listen to their bodies, practice breathing, and relax their muscles and joints after long hours of stressful desk work.

FSOFT South employees also demonstrate a strong sporting spirit with sports clubs such as the Football Club (FFA), Badminton Club, Basketball Club, and more. Affectionately known as “shuttlecock hitters” or the Badminton Club, members gather for training every Sunday morning with support from FUN. In addition to sports clubs, FSOFT Ho Chi Minh City also boasts the F-Coustic Arts Club and F-Dance Club, specializing in participating in company events and performances.

In addition to the clubs which gather regularly, FSOFT also has various sports and arts groups that include both FUN representatives and FSOFTers. They play diverse roles such as actors, dancers, singers, and even athletes competing in company and corporation-wide events, including tournaments, competitions, and commemorative celebrations.

Football is the most popular sport among FSOFTers. In the past year, FSOFT successfully defended their championship at the FPT Cup on September 13th. The ladies of FPT Software were equally impressive. In December 2023, two female football teams from FSOFT participated in the FPT Women’s Cup and brought home the silver medals.

Notably, the football tournament was also an occasion to strengthen the bonds among FSOFTers of various nationalities, as the FSOFT men’s team successfully defended their championship with contributions from several international players. In particular, Andy Perez Silva (FHN.TCS), the Cuban goalkeeper for FSOFT, even won the additional award for Best Goalkeeper for successfully blocking a penalty shootout to secure victory for FSOFT in the final. Two other foreign players, Auguste Dalby (FHN.TCS) and Mamadou Papa Diongue (FWA.EC), also made noteworthy contributions since the group stage.

Although the clubs at FSOFT were initially established in order to connect people with same hobbies, they gradually become a second home, a “safe haven” for their members.

As the president of the club, Nguyen Hong Son (FHN.DLS), president of HMC sees the club as his small family at the company. Specially, HMC is one of the reason the make Son stay at FSOFT. He said that he once decided to part way with FSOFT, but then chose to stay because he was offered to help FUN develop the club. “Until now, I think that was a right decision. I gained many friends, had many memories with the club. I believe that when I reflect my career at FSOFT, there will be precious memories with the friends at the club,” he shared.

A familiar dancer to FSOFTers at Hola, Nguyen Thi Thanh Van (GST.RPM), shared that FDC is her “second home” at FSOFT. FDC is not only where she pours her passion for dancing, but also a second family within the company. “The club is mostly women, so it’s easier to confide. I also learn and receive constant encouragement from the sisters at FDC, which makes me much more confident,” Van said.

Mr. Tran Cong Thao (GAM.GET), the president of the Vovinam Club, stated that alongside the core goal of promoting the martial art of Vovinam to FSOFTers, the club also has the “ambition” to participate in external events in the future. “At that time, besides being an IT company, people will also know FSOFT as a place of strong development for sports movements, specifically Vovinam martial arts,” he shared.

Ms. Pham Thuy Tien (FA.GOS), a key member of the Hiking Club in Danang, shared that due to the group’s diverse activities, members also bond with each other. Not only colleagues, but those with similar interests, the brothers and sisters of the Hiking Club also care about each other’s lives and become close friends, ready to stand by each other in life. The group not only limits its members to FSOFTers in Danang but also welcomes onsite or relocated friends. “I see that this has helped them quickly get acquainted with the new environment, have more friends, and not feel lost when away from home”, observed Ms. Tien. She is also impressed by the skills that each person can learn when joining the group: “Furthermore, with the different terrains of each destination we visit, paying attention and observing will reveal the life skills of each person, from which we can learn and accumulate more life experience for ourselves. I also remember and am impressed by the help and support among teammates when overcoming difficult and challenging stretches of the journey”.

The experiences gained from participating in FSOFT’s representative teams in competitions also contribute to increasing the pride of FSOFTers and help employees bond with each other more closely.

When asked, FSOFT’s men’s football team goalkeeper, Andy, eagerly shared, “I feel fantastic being part of the football team for 2 years. When I first arrived at the company, nobody knew who I was, but after 2 tournaments together, I’ve made many new friends. The team has helped me a lot in bonding with my colleagues”.

Meanwhile, player Dalby affirmed that participating in tournaments not only helps him make new friends but also provides an opportunity for this Haitian lad to explore his abilities and become wiser. For player Mamadou, the most impressive aspect of the tournament is not on the field but the “apple meo meo” – a type of apple wine, served at every post-match gathering. “Because I like apple wine, people often invite me to drink. I also speak Vietnamese, so I can chat comfortably and joyfully with my colleagues. I really cherish everyone,” he shared.

Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Anh (FUN), who “multi-tasks” in various roles such as President of HRC, President of FDC, and simultaneously as a cultural officer for the collective at Hoa Lac, stated that FUN always encourages and supports club activities within the company, including Hola Park. “We want employees to feel that Hola Park is not just a workplace but also a place where they can connect, share interests, and indulge in their passions together. Moreover, the clubs at Hola are also the pioneers in artistic activities and performances at Hoa Lac and throughout FSOFT. We believe that this is evidence that FSOFTers are not only skilled in their professions but also willing to devote themselves to their hobbies,” she said.

With its role as a strength and also a cultural characteristic of FPT/FSOFT, movement activities are always promoted at FPT Software. Also, for that reason, there is a special group of employees at FSOFT, forming the “FUN representatives network”, specializing in supporting clubs as well as movement activities within and outside the company.

The FUN Representatives Network is a network that is almost unique in Vietnamese enterprises. The employees within the FUN representatives’ network are mostly dual-role employees: Apart from their professional roles within their units and departments, they serve as information hubs and frontline leaders in cultural movements and collective activities within their units as well as throughout FSOFT. It is not an exaggeration to liken them to the circulatory system, transmitting the flames of passion to FSOFTers through active participation in movement activities. They are familiar collaborators of the FSOFT Cultural and Union Department and are regular participants in events both within and outside the company.

Their roles also change according to each event: sometimes they are the main “event runners” in the organizing committee, sometimes they are actors, dancers, or singers giving their all on stage, but there are also times when they are the software house warriors carrying the company’s flags, directly competing on the field… But regardless of their roles, there is one undeniable fact: they are the source of motivation, the “engines” that keep the movement activities at FSOFT running smoothly.

Luu Thuy Binh (FSG) is one of the vibrant members of the FUN representatives’ network and is also a familiar face to FSOFTers in Hanoi. Working in a back-office position, Thuy Binh still manages to allocate time to participate in FSOFT’s collective cultural activities. She shared that she particularly loves activities that enhance employees’ spiritual well-being, such as large-scale music events, workshops, and flea markets at Hola Park. “As someone working in communications, participating in these activities also helps me increase my understanding of FSOFT, accumulate knowledge, and gather interesting insights to serve my job,” Thuy Binh shared.

In 2023, Thuy Binh participated in supporting FUN at various events such as the Love Stations Music Show and the recruitment for attendees for the Grand Ceremony on September 13th. She expressed that her favorite event was the September 13th Festival, where she contributed to a performance that won FSOFT’s Gold AI Award. “Through each of these activities, I feel even more love for the Software House, more love for the Corporation, and more love for the FUN representatives who fear neither fatigue nor difficulty, but keep advancing for the organization,” she proudly shared.

As one of the individuals who always dedicates herself to company events as well as Corporation events, Ms. Nguyen Dieu Linh (FSA.LDC) mentioned that since joining FSOFT, she has gained a lot of experiences. Events like Flea Markets, Village Festivals, Happy Tours, Happy Run races, VUI FEST, Women’s Football Tournament… have been places where Linh has fully dedicated herself in her role as a general association member. “It might be tiring to do both the main job and participate in activities, but at that moment, it’s fun, so I forget about feeling tired,” she shared. The most memorable event for Linh is probably her participation in the Festival at FPT’s 35th anniversary, where she acted as an actress. “I was very happy as the performance gradually came together. I didn’t miss any rehearsals, and everyone teasingly called me ‘class president’,” she happily shared.

The FUN representatives FSOFT aren’t just “givers”; they also “receive” a lot in return through their involvement in activities within their units as well as the company. Mr. Nguyen Trinh Dat (FHM.EMU), an FSOFTer and also a FUN representative who has been with the company for 5 years, shared that it’s the collective cultural activities that have played a part in “keeping” him at FSOFT. “In my nearly 5 years at FSOFT, including 2 years during the pandemic, I feel fortunate to be in a unit with truly amazing people”, Dat said.

What the FUN representatives gain during their tenure in these activities is not only knowledge and experience but also a deepening bond and stronger emotional connection with their colleagues at work. Dat cherishes his memories, saying, “The most precious experience for me is being able to work, dance, get drunk, and meet everyone together. I do not know if I will meet anyone with the same emotions in the future, but at this moment, I am happy to meet everyone who always loves me”.
