FPT Americas invests in specialized GIGA DM Coaching Program
To meet the training and skill development needs of Delivery Managers (DMs), Scrum Masters, and Engagement Owners, FPT Americas (FAM) collaborates with BCC PMO to organize the specialized “GIGA DM Coaching” program in the US. The program officially kicked off on June 18, 2024.
At FAM, the program is overseen by Program Owner William Partin (FAM.ST9). William explains that GIGA DM Coaching aims to enhance production management capabilities for onshore, offshore, and nearshore scenarios. It also focuses on improving project management skills, especially for high-risk projects like fixed-price contracts. Additionally, the program develops customer management skills within the Production team to ensure seamless collaboration with offshore units. It also aims to enhance production management processes and establish development-oriented mechanisms for DMs.
The coaching team includes seasoned professionals from FSOFT HO, such as Ms. Belle Wong Pili (Senior Advisor at FSOFT) and Dhiraj Bhandary Thiruvale (BCC COE), along with experienced Consulting Directors, Delivery Managers, and Solution Leads at FAM. These individuals have deep experience across diverse projects with clients from various countries. Alongside mentors, 16 mentees will participate in training sessions led by coaches and mentors, spanning six months starting from July 2024.
According to Mr. Vu Dang Khoa (FAM.WM), the training program will equip mentees with knowledge and enhance their skills in managing fixed-price and full-life cycle projects. Effective communication with clients will also be emphasized.
During the kick-off event, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dong – FSOFT’s Deputy CDO shared: “At FSOFT, we increasingly handle fixed-price contracts worth millions of USD. However, we face challenges in project management related to scope management, risk management, and stakeholder coordination. Following the guidance of FSOFT Chairwoman Chu Thi Thanh Ha, BCC has already conducted a potential PM training program at HO with 10 graduates who actively participated in million-dollar projects. At FAM, BCC continues to collaborate, following an Agile mindset. I hope that FAM’s mentees will strive to learn, enhance their expertise, and gain confidence in executing multimillion-dollar projects.”
