FSOFT Chairwoman Chu Thi Thanh Ha honored by Forbes in Top 20 Professional Female Managers

FSOFT Chairwoman Chu Thi Thanh Ha and FPT Retail Chairwoman Nguyen Bach Diep both entered the “Top 20 professional female managers” by Forbes Vietnam in March 2022.

Over the years, Forbes Vietnam has continuously introduced prominent female figures in business. In the March 2022 issue, the magazine introduces a list of Top 20 professional female managers who are running private companies. Accompanying the two female generals of the F family in this list are other female leaders. They are the Chairwomen of Vinhomes and Unilever Vietnam, and CEOs of Cisco Vietnam, IBM Vietnam, VinFast, Sacombank, etc.

“In March 2020, FPT appointed Ms. Chu Thi Thanh Ha to the position of Chairwoman of FPT Software – a key unit of FPT in developing the global market, following the corporation’s planning and leadership rotation strategy. The company has more than 21,000 employees and is currently operating in many international markets”, the magazine wrote to introduce the software house’s leader.

Ms. Ha joined FPT in 1995 as the General Director Assistant of FPT for Mr. Truong Gia Binh. During her 27 years working at FPT, she has held many positions and is one of the few key female leaders of the corporation. Ms. Ha joined FPT’s telecommunications department (the predecessor of FPT Telecom) from the first day of its establishment and made many important contributions, being one of the recipients of the certificate of merit from the Prime Minister of Vietnam in 2012 for her contribution to Internet development in Vietnam. Ms. Ha was honored by Forbes Vietnam as one of the 50 most influential women in Vietnam in 2017.

After two years of taking over the software house, Ms. Ha continues to lead the company firmly during the pandemic and reaped many new successes. In 2021, FSOFT grew by 23% and set many new records such as profit reaching 107 million USD, securing the first client with revenue of more than 70 million USD/year, winning a big bid worth 200 million USD, and having a company size far exceed the 22,000-employee mark.

Meanwhile, regarding FPT Retail Chairwoman Nguyen Bach Diep, Forbes Vietnam writes: “Despite facing many challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, the company still reaped the sweet fruits with Long Chau drugstore chain. Taking advantage of the high demand during the pandemic, Long Chau quickly expanded their chain to 400 locations, an increase of 200 stores compared to the beginning of the year. In 2021, this pharmacy chain started to register profits, two years earlier than expected.

To select individuals for the list of Top 20 professional female managers, Forbes Vietnam relies on a series of criteria such as whether the individuals are holding high-level positions, or currently operating and leading Vietnam’s leading private companies as chairwomen or CEOs. Individuals in the list may also be working for multinational corporations in key leadership positions, and being in charge of important areas of operations and industries. They should have a professional working style and personal competence. They should also manage companies with a strong standing in the industry and healthy operation. The leadership positions are as of February 28, 2022.
