FSOFT plans to recruit hundreds of Data Engineers and Data Analysts

With a series of big data projects, FSOFT is actively recruiting and training hundreds of Data Engineers & Data Analysts. The company aims to double its current number of Data professionals by the end of 2021.

The development of technology has posed unprecedented challenges in terms of data storage, analysis, and use. Enterprises now need “Big data Analysts” to be able to convert data into capital assets, turning inanimate numbers into “talking” numbers. The world’s leading technology companies such as Software AG, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, EMC, HP, and Dell have spent more than 15 billion USD on companies specializing in data management and analysis and earned 10 times more than the amount they had to spend.

C. – the leading company in providing automated trading solutions in the US is no exception to that trend. The strength in Data is also a differentiator that helps C. lead the industry in automotive services.

Hundreds of years of historical data help C. build predictive models for vehicle prices, predict maintenance/operations, forecast industry trends, etc. Currently, 90% of Americans are using the valuation services of C.

Since 2019, C. has cooperated with FSOFT to implement a series of projects (C99) on application development, maintenance, and digital transformation. Currently, C99 has more than 50 projects with this client, including 6 projects on data with a scale of about 100 people.

C99’s data-intensive projects are carried out mostly by Data Analyst (DA) and Data Engineer (DE). In particular, a DA – data analyst, is someone who performs in-depth analysis to provide insights to clients in using data effectively, showing results through charts or applications. A DE – data engineer, is in charge of engineering to integrate, transform and build data pipelines, ETL data, ensuring data integrity and quality. In addition, a DE is also responsible for developing data models, machine learning models to be able to use data in the most optimal way.

FHM aims to double the current data personel to 400 engineers by the end of 2021.

Currently, the members involved in C99’s projects are gathered from Big data projects at FSOFT over the past 3 years. Therefore, the members of the “core team” all have experience and the ability to respond well to work as well as the communication skills and ability to learn and understand the system quickly.

Mr. Tran Quang Minh Tan (BUL FHM) said: “Faced with complex problems on C.’s massive data system, each project team used different technologies, including new technologies and platforms such as Snowflake, MicroStrategy, Tableau, workflow management, and ETL tools (SSIS, Pentaho, Informatica, Airflow…). Project members have to continuously research and equip themselves with certification international technology related, in order to build trust with the client to be able to participate in more complex projects”.

After more than 1 year of cooperation, all 6 running Data projects of C99 are highly appreciated by the client. Next time, the client will explain 3 projects about Data for C99 to deploy. Especially, at the end of this July, the current most important data project of C. will start with 40 members including 10 DA and 30 DE.

In this project, the C99 team will help the client convert old systems using oracle, Informatica to Big Data Platform on Cloud (using Microstrategy, Snowflake) with a huge amount of data of about 200,000 reports. The data will be analyzed more accurately, exploited, and used in a better way, thereby solving difficult problems and creating great business efficiency for the client.

From the beginning of 2021, FHM – a large unit of FSOFT has been focusing on implementing a number of programs to prepare and develop resources for C99’s data projects in particular and FSOFT’s data projects in general. Along with recruitment, FHM also cares and invests in training.

FHM also established Data R&D Club (groups to research new technologies and platforms for new data projects) and Data Community organization (where all members work on data projects to participate in researching new technologies, as well as sharing experiences and practical experiences in the projects they participate in).

In 2021, FHM aims to develop the Data team from more than 200 current members to 400 engineers including Data Architects, DAs, and DEs.
