Global Software Engineering: Standard English training for Fresher

Global Software Engineering (GSE) is an English training program for Fresher by FSOFT Academy (FA). As of May 2022, after 9 months of implementation, GSE has been training 712 students in all 3 regions, of which 55% have joined the units, partly meeting the needs of human resources who’s English is fluent at FSOFT.

GSE is designed with a methodical and thorough schedule with the desire to improve students’ English ability in the best way, from simple communication to apply to projects and jobs. The GSE training course is divided into 2 main contents including TOEIC and Communication. Students will study in 3 groups of outstanding topics which are Communicative English; English for work and English for interviews, trained by both Vietnamese and foreign lecturers.

The English program will be trained in parallel with specialized skills. Depending on the class that the student is studying and the requirements of the unit, FSOFT Academy will divide the study time reasonably and ensure the output quality. Before being divided into classes, students will have to pass an English proficiency test to divide their levels. After the training period, students who are recognized to have completed the GSE program must ensure two factors that are English communication B1 and TOEIC scores higher than 600. Besides, FA also regularly organizes events and activities to improve English for students with the spirit of “Learning to play – Play to learn” such as English Contest, Golden Bell, etc.

Up to now, FA has completed 60% of the targets set out in recruiting and training GSE trainees. The students assigned to the project are all excellent students who not only meet the professional requirements but also have good English ability and flexibility to serve the project requirements. After completing the GSE program, students can read and understand English documents fluently, and confidently communicate with colleagues and foreign customers.

In the coming time, the unit will continue to promote the implementation of this program, spreading the importance of English to all students and ready to provide quality human resources for any particular project of the FSOFT.
