FSOFT’s painter whose painting auctioned for $8,000
Dang Thai Tuan (GST.STU) – the artist born in 2000, spent half of the auction money for his painting “Hanoi dong” to donate to the Carry Forward Project to support Vietnamese children affected by Covid-19 .Joining GST when he was still a 4th year student majoring in IT at University of Economics, Technology, and Industry, Tuan soon became a prominent “painter” of the unit by his innovative products.
Tuan said, from an early age, the pencil became his best friend. It helped him draw the first lines of cartoon characters on TV. Not only drawing by himself, Tuan also often passionately watched his father draw his toys. Since then, painting has become Tuan’s passion.
Now, with just an iPad and his “unlimited” imagination, the 2000s-born FSOFTer has become a real artist with his special paintings. Seeing life from very simple and familiar angle, Tuan has transformed life in a very special way when combining daily elements with with futuristic mechanical stylized images”.
Tuan also doesn’t remember how many paintings he has drawn, but there are 40 works that make him remember the most because of the value they bring to the community. Especially among them, “Ha Noi street vendor” and “Collective housing station” are two most memorable works when they were displayed at exhibitions in Goethe-Institut and L’espace.

Each painting not only makes viewers satisfied but also helps Tuan to earn quite a lot to continue to nurture his passion for painting. The young artist of GST shared: that “The price of simple paintings ranges from 3-4 million VND, more complicated one may be about 8-10 million VND. The highest up to now is the “Hanoi Rong” painting, which was auctioned successfully for 8,000 USD in the “Fundraising Dinner – NFT Painting Auction” event.
Working at FSOFT, the young artist has had the opportunity to work on many projects, through which Tuan can improve his knowledge, experience a variety of genres and styles, and be creative.
In the coming time, Tuan will continue to hone his drawing skills at FSOFT to reach the position where he can manage a team of GST artists. At the same time, he is also able to develop his personal projects and collaborate with a number of studios and websites on art products and fashion to promote his works widely.
