From PM Contest 2020 runner-up to BUL of FHM.ADG
After winning the 2nd runner-up award in the PM Contest 2020 with members of the SKY9 team, Pham Ngoc Hoang has attained a series of achievements in his work and become a talented leader of FHM.ADG.
Though not winning the Championship of PM Contest 2020, the SKY9 team gained a lot of love from the judges and is known by many FSOFTers. The 2nd runner-up award also created more development opportunities for the team members themselves. With a solid stepping stone – the title of 2nd Runner Up, Mr. Hoang received trust from his seniors to join the largest fixed-price project FSOFT in 2020, which was worth $7.5 million. At the same time, that foundation also helped him reach the BUL position of the FHM.ADG unit after satisfying a key account which is the largest real estate corporation in Asia.

Commenting on the overall value of PM Contest for individuals, Hoang said that this is both a playground, a framework and a foundation of the shortcut to success: “PM Contest is really a big and useful playground for PM. Through the contest, PMs are exposed to many real-life problems and can learn a lot from other players and the “super-quality” advice from the judges. BUL of FHM.ADG also believes that the contest helps players practice core skills to become a successful PM. Those include team work, problem solving, leadership, among others.
As a “senior” at this playground, the “captain” of FHM ADG suggests the right course of action for the teams to focus on “Productivity”. The creative presentations of tools, IP, lean process have strong points to help improve the efficiency. “And yet, the teams also need to pay attention to their presentation so that it is concise and easy to understand. That way, the judges and listeners can easily visualize the situation and grasp the highlight,” Hoang shared.
PM Contest 2022 will officially take place on July 7, 8, and 9 respectively. Accordingly, the Challenge round – the first qualifying round, will start from July 12-15 both off-line (for teams in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang) and online (for teams in Can Tho, Quy Nhon, FKR, and FPHI). Teams from Japan will compete separately.
