PM Contest 2022 announces 5 teams to enter final round

In 3 days from August 17 to 19, PM Contest found 6 finalists including Polaris (ICS.LTS), CTG (FHN.FLT), Bigbang_GAM (GAM.DAP), F1F battlecruiser (EBS.F1F), and Tequila (FHM.Z13)

In round 2 (Face-Off), the Advisory Board proposed 3 topics for the teams to choose from. The topics werelarge-scale project problems and complex situations to which the teams needed to come up with solutions. The team had time to research and ask questions to clarify the topic. Through this round, it was expected that the teams would find suitable solutions to delivering large projects with high productivity.

By July 26, 59 teams had sent in information about the problem to be presented/solved, information about the coach, and questions about the topic. On July 29, the Advisory Board answered questions from the teams. From August 8-15, the teams sent slides and references to the organizers. The Face-Off round was the deciding round to select the best 5 teams at each bridgehead to enter the final. There are 02 teams from Hanoi, 01 team from Da Nang, and 02 teams from HCMC. In the process of researching the topic, the teams focused on this year’s 2 theme keywords which are “Productivity & Large scale”. To increase fairness for this year’s competition, the presenting teams had to do it 1 on 1 with the judges. After each round, the organizers will post the record to the workplace PM Contest group so that the FSOFT project management team and community can learn more about it.

In Hanoi, the Face-Off round of PM Contest 2022 round was held at Lam Gia room (F-Ville 2) with the participation of 24 teams. In particular, team CTG (FHN FLT) and team Polaris (ICS LTS) had excellent performances, with scores of 255 and 233 respectively to win the “golden ticket” to enter the final.

The judges in Hanoi impressed the leaders of the unit with many years of experience in the project management role and they are also the judges through seasons of PM Contest. They are CHRO Nguyen Tuan Minh, Head of FQC Nguyen Quoc Dong, Head of PID Department Bui Hai Toan, Vice FSUL GST Hoang Van Dong, Vice FSUL FHN Nguyen Hoang Hai, and BUL GAM.DAP Nguyen Thi Thuy Hien.

In Da Nang, 15 teams from different units gathered for the Face-off round of PM Contest 2022 on August 18 and 19, at F-Complex 1. Teams BayBay (GST.Q7), Titans ( FDN.G55), Dragon Bridge (FDN.G3), Le Te Et (FSG.LTS), FourL (DPS.EDP) entered the first batch, offering many creative directions to solve the problems proposed by the judges.

The judges are seniors at FSOFT – those who have fought in many big projects such as Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong – CEO of FSOFT Central, Mr. Le Xuan Loc – Director of FSU FDN, Mr. Vo Kim Khanh – Vice BUL FDN, Mr. Nguyen Chanh Tin – Director of JODC, and Mr. Tran Huu Cong – BUL GAM DAP.

Team Bigbang_GAM (GAM DAP) represents Da Nang to join the final of this year PM Contest.

With careful preparation and skillful leadership, Team Bigbang_GAM (GAM.DAP) got the highest score of 262, and will continue to compete in the final round of PM Contest 2022. Team Titans (FDN.G55) won the Second prize in the Face-off round in Da Nang with a score of 249.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Face-off round of PM Contest 2022 had the participation of 21 teams. The judges were still veterans and experienced faces namely CDTO Dao Duy Cuong, Director of GAM.HCM Vu Tuan Manh, Director of IVS Nguyen Dinh Vinh An, Director of EBS Ngo Minh Tri, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen – PMO at FSG, BUL FHN.DNA Phan Thi Vi Ba, and Vice BUL IVS.B1 Le Le Huyen.

Tequila was the team to earn the last ticket, representing FSOFT HCM, to join the final.

After 2 days, the judges selected the 2 teams with the highest scores in HCM – F1F Battlecruiser (EBS.F1F, 259 points) and Tequila (FHM.Z13, 237 points), to enter the final round, which will take place in September. Judge Vu Tuan Manh highly appreciated the presentation of the F1F Battlecruiser team because of the practicality and specificity in solving the problem. “How the team approached the problem, made their own suggestions, and raised the level of the problem really gave me a very special feeling. Along with a very methodical presentation, this part of the exam is very good to me.”

In Japan, FJP’s talent search competition has determined 5 teams to go to the final round, including Impermanent, Cat, NVI, S2H and To be Continue. The final round of FJP PM Contest will take place on September 10. One winning team will be sponsored to compete in the FSOFT PM Contest Finals in Vietnam.

It is expected that the final round of PM Contest 2022 will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 23. Previously, in 2021, the PM Contest season 6 playground was crowned by CCV (FHM.AKAT). The team brought FHM the second consecutive laurel from the prestigious contest.
