Jaehyun Hong – A Software Engineer with a Passion for Conquering Sports

Beyond the keyboard and lines of Java code, software engineer Jaehyun Hong (FKR.KTX) harbors a great passion for sports and team-building activities. What sets him apart is his burning desire to explore and conquer challenging mountain trails. Driven by his enthusiasm, he established the FKR Hiking Club, connecting 45 members from various departments within the FPT Korea (FKR) family.

As an outgoing and sociable person, Jaehyun always seeks joy in group activities. Instead of ordinary gatherings, he prefers morning walks with friends, enjoying conversations while soaking in the fresh air and positive energy from nature. These moments gradually nurtured his love for hiking, propelling him toward the sport and the discovery of new adventures.
With a desire to conquer the majestic beauty of nature, Jaehyun incorporated hiking into his daily routine. Besides the health benefits, this habit also created valuable opportunities for bonding with friends and colleagues. “I often spend an entire morning or afternoon hiking, conquering peaks between 500 to 800 meters,” Jaehyun shared.

For him, hiking is also the key to finding balance between work and life: “When work becomes overwhelming, I often turn to hiking to relax. Conversely, when life presents challenges, work is where I find motivation.” Jaehyun constantly seeks out new trails with a spirit of adventurous excitement: “If I have little time, I choose nearby locations recommended by friends. But if I have more time, I’ll open a map, close my eyes, pick a random spot, and just go.”

Jaehyun’s passion didn’t stop at his own pursuits; he also spread this sport to those around him by founding the FKR Hiking Club. In contrast to its modest beginnings, the club quickly grew, expanding to 45 members from various units within FKR. This club not only allows FPT members in Korea to conquer peaks together but also serves as an open space for interaction, sharing, and bonding, bridging the gaps between departments. Moreover, through the club, Jaehyun hopes to create a common home that welcomes new faces, helping them quickly integrate into the larger FKR family.

Looking to the future, he not only aspires to conquer new trails but also wishes to expand the club further, allowing more colleagues to experience the joy and wonderful benefits of this sport. “I hope to gather more colleagues so that everyone can have more opportunities to experience and discover the joys of hiking together,” Jaehyun shared.
