“Miss FPT 2022” Ha Minh Tuan shared with KBS World Radio about FPT’s potential in the Korean IT sector

The goal of FPT Korea is to take over as the “big brother” of Vietnam’s IT business in Korea; it offers young Vietnamese individuals, students, and IT engineers a place to live and study in the Land of Kimchi as well as chances for young Koreans to work abroad. That was one of the things Ha Minh Tuan, the CEO of FKR, shared with KBS World Radio.

KBS World Radio (Korean TV channel) is the official radio station of Korea for overseas broadcasts. Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Arabic, Vietnamese, Russian, German, French, Vietnamese, and Spanish are among the 11 languages that KBS World Radio broadcasts in other countries.

Mr. Ha Minh Tuan remarked KBS World that Korea is the birthplace of the largest electronics companies in the world and that the two countries have a strong relationship. Many Korean companies in the automotive and electronics sectors have made significant investments in Vietnam. Due to the cultural similarities between the two nations, FPT has been operating in this region since 2016. Currently, more than 100 of its employees—30% of whom are Korean natives—work directly in Korea, and 1,000 offshore engineers are employed in Vietnam to serve this market. For many major Korean firms, FKR is taking part in sales, self-driving car systems, supermarket management systems, and smart factory management projects.

“FPT is preparing the force to meet the target of 1 million personnel working on digital transformation by 2023. We stand ready to assist Korea while also acknowledging the strength of the 230,000 Vietnamese residents and employees who reside here, according to Mr. Tuan.

In just one year, beginning in January 2022, Mr. Ha Minh Tuan effectively “took over” FPT Korea by implementing unique growth strategies. With more than 10 projects/contracts worth more than $1 million, Mr. Tuan assisted FPT Korea in growing 80.3% in sales and 85% in profit compared to 2021 despite the Korean Won losing about 15% of its value.

Under Mr. Tuan’s direction, FPT Korea (FKR) has grown to be the biggest Vietnamese business in Korea and has ranked among the top 200 IT firms in the Land of Kimchi. As FSOFT’s Tier 1 OB, FKR also virtually doubled its growth target and slashed the time it took for it to double to less than a year.
