FPT Slovakia supports National Robotics Olympiad: Nurturing future tech talents

Košice (Slovakia) – the second-largest city in Slovakia and a key technology hub in the eastern region – recently hosted the national finals of the World Robot Olympiad. As a company that values education and technological innovation, FPT Slovakia (FSK) supported the event as part of its strategy to promote tech education and digital skills development among school students.

This year’s competition centered around the theme “The Future of Robots,” challenging participants to complete space-related missions. Teams used LEGO SPIKE or EV3 kits to build and program their robots—a process that required logical thinking, technical skills, and strong teamwork. Out of 79 teams from across Slovakia, 30 advanced to the national finals, demonstrating not only the growing appeal of the competition but also the rising importance of LEGO-based programming and robotics as essential skills in the digital era.

Representing FPT Slovakia, Mr. Lorant Gati – Cluster Lead – joined the award ceremony to honor the top-performing teams who will move on to the regional and global finals in Singapore and Slovenia. The event was hosted by Ms. Andrea Kalafusova, a member of FSK, who brought her professional experience in organizing and facilitating events to ensure the program ran smoothly.

Supporting intellectual competitions like the Robotics Olympiad reflects FPT Slovakia’s long-term vision: to invest in STEM education, foster innovation, and nurture future tech innovators from an early age.
