SkyTrans Launches “Tone & Domain Customization” Feature to Elevate Translation Quality
As SkyTrans continues its rollout across various departments and teams at FSOFT, the project team has received consistent feedback such as: “Many translations are accurate in meaning but sometimes miss the context or fail to use the correct technical terms for our domain—since each department and project has its own specific nuances.”
Based on this practical insight, the SkyTrans Team has introduced two new features under Text Translation, empowering users to proactively control translation quality by aligning tone, context, and target audience.
✨ Tone & Domain Customization allows the AI to better understand the purpose of the text and its intended readers—ensuring more precise terminology and tone.
Available Tone options include: Formal (for contracts, financial reports, etc.); Professional (for proposals, partner emails, etc.); Friendly (for internal announcements, congratulatory emails, etc.); Conversational (for social media posts, etc.)…
Available Domain options currently include: Financial (for financial reports, loan agreements, etc.); Medical (for healthcare-related documents); Technical (for manuals, user guides, technical documentation); Marketing (for campaign proposals, social media content, etc.)…
For example, when translating a customer-facing proposal, FSOFT teams should select Formal tone and Technical domain to ensure technical accuracy. Meanwhile, if the HR team is translating a congratulatory email to employees, using the Friendly tone would create a more warm and approachable message.
✨ AI-Powered “Actions” for Editing Before Translation
No need to manually shorten the original text or extract key points from a full-length document. With the new “Actions” feature, users can ask the AI to modify content (summarize, list main points, etc.) directly within the original text before hitting “Translate.” In addition to built-in prompt options, users can also create custom prompts to fit their specific needs—ensuring the translated output matches expectations and minimizes the need for post-editing.
For instance, if the team needs a quick overview of a document, they can simply use the “Summarize content” option. Or, before translating meeting minutes, they can choose “Show me the meeting highlights” or “List out all action items” to generate a more useful and focused translation.
