FPT Latin America plants seeds of green in Belén, Heredia

In Belén, Heredia Province – the “green lung” at the heart of Costa Rica’s vibrant economic hub – the CSR team from FPT Costa Rica collaborated with local organizations on a meaningful urban forest restoration program.

During the activity, volunteers planted approximately 100 native trees and plants, including many species that attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, maintained trails, cleaned up litter, and helped protect local wildlife. Each action directly contributed to preserving biodiversity and improving the community’s living environment.

Costa Rica is recognized globally as a model for forest conservation, having increased forest cover from 34% to over 50% in just three decades, thanks to sustainable policies such as the “Payment for Ecosystem Services” program. In this context, FPT’s initiative not only adds green space to the city but also continues the nation’s journey of environmental preservation.

The young saplings now taking root symbolize vitality and hope, while affirming FPT’s “For People and the Planet” spirit – a commitment to building a greener, healthier city for today and for generations to come.
