FPT Latin America joins in celebrating Costa Rica’s Independence Day

On September 15th, the FPT Latin America team in San José, Costa Rica, organized meaningful activities to celebrate Independence Day, marking a significant milestone of freedom and independence for this Central American country.

Right at the office, team members kicked off the holiday with a traditional Tico breakfast, enjoying gallo pinto and local specialties in a vibrant space decorated with the colors of Costa Rica’s national flag.

Costa Rica’s Independence Day is a special occasion celebrated every year on September 15th, evoking national pride and commemorating the country’s history of gaining independence from Spain in 1821. During this time, cities are adorned with flags and flowers, schools and communities hold parades, children light lanterns on the evening of September 14th, and lively programs featuring art, dancing, and traditional parties create a warm, festive atmosphere of togetherness.

The signature breakfast of gallo pinto, fried plantains, eggs, and local coffee is an integral part of the celebration, bringing everyone together to share joy and fully experience the significance of this special day.

For Carmen Adina Tudor (FAM.ST11), this year’s Independence Day brought intense emotions. She shared that a few years ago, the moment she became a citizen of Costa Rica changed her life. Every September 15th, she feels proud to call Costa Rica her homeland and to immerse herself in its culture and warmth. This year, as Independence Day coincided with FPT’s 37th anniversary, the reunion breakfast with colleagues made her even more appreciative of her journey, grateful for the team and the strong bonds she has found in this country.

This year’s Independence Day was not only an occasion to honor traditional values, but also an opportunity for FPT Latin America members to create memorable moments together, spreading the spirit of unity and strengthening relationships within the team, affirming the value of the “One Team” spirit in the organization.
