Admiring the golden Autumn in the Land of Maple Leaf
As autumn paints the skies and earth of Canada in golden hues, Ralf Jay Mosqueda (FAM.ST7), together with his FPT Canada colleagues and friends, led an expedition to explore Algonquin Highlands – a highland region located nearly 250 kilometers north of Toronto, famously known as the “heart of autumn” in Ontario.
Algonquin Highlands, situated in Haliburton County, Ontario, is renowned for its highland terrain interspersed with hills, lakes, and ancient maple forests. In autumn, the region seems to don a spectacular robe of nature, with vibrant shades of red, yellow, and orange blending together to create the enchanting scenery characteristic of Eastern Canada.

Departing the city at dawn, the group embarked on a nearly three-hour drive along winding roads through forests in the midst of their seasonal transformation. As the first rays of sunlight filtered through crimson maples, golden oaks, and amber birches, the landscape awakened in breathtaking beauty, leaving everyone in awe of nature’s magic.
Upon arriving in Algonquin Highlands, the group felt transported to another world: the still lakes reflected the dazzling forests like mirrors, trails covered in golden leaves, and laughter echoed through the fresh, crisp autumn air.

The highlight of the journey was when the team conquered the Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower – the region’s iconic observation tower. From above, the entire autumn forest stretched out like an endless golden carpet, overwhelming all with its grandeur.
For FPT Canada members, this was not just an autumn excursion, but also a moment to recharge after a busy week and to immerse themselves in the majestic nature of the land of maple leaves.
