Promoting a culture of “Mindful Working” through a mindfulness workshop with an International Expert

Recently, many FSOFTers in Hanoi had a special experience participating in the “Mindfulness & Life Balance” workshop with international expert Rajesh Khadka. The event offered moments of relaxation, deep reflection, and practical mindfulness exercises, helping participants find balance amidst the fast-paced technology lifestyle.

As part of a series of activities aimed at enhancing mental well-being and building a sustainable work environment, the session focused on three core themes: stress and burnout management, work-life balance (Wheel of Life), and developing Emotional Intelligence. Speaker Rajesh Khadka imparted knowledge and guided practical exercises, helping FSOFTers gain a deeper understanding of mindfulness, how to apply it to manage stress, enhance focus, and maintain balance.

Beyond theoretical discussions, Mr. Rajesh Khadka – founder of Coaching Consulting Company (UK) with over 20 years of experience in mindfulness – personally led meditation and breath observation exercises. He emphasized the connection between mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence in maintaining mental well-being, while also introducing four core elements of tranquility: recognizing emotions, managing reactions, sustaining presence, and practicing gratitude. According to the expert, stress is not an obstacle but a natural bodily response; when recognized and managed properly, it can become a positive driving force.

Following the workshop, many participants shared that the segment on Emotional Intelligence was particularly inspiring. Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh (FGC.HN2) commented that what Rajesh conveyed was not just about techniques, but about the spirit of “complete presence,” living and focusing entirely on the present moment. She shared: instead of “living” through screens, everyone needs to learn to be truly present in communication, listening, and understanding others – which is the core of Emotional Intelligence. Practicing meditation helps us recognize and regulate emotions, rather than being led by them.

This marked Rajesh Khadka’s first visit to FSOFT, offering FSOFTers the opportunity to directly experience mental health care methods in a digital work environment. Notably, each participant also received a small, meaningful gift from Mr. Tran Quang Vinh – FA.DAT and Mr. Hoang Thanh Binh – FHN.DXT, contributing to a more vibrant and memorable atmosphere for the program. These thoughtful gifts were not merely tokens of appreciation but also conveyed a message of care and connection within the FSOFT community.

The workshop concluded in a relaxed, positive atmosphere, strongly inspiring mindfulness and delivering a meaningful message: “stress is not an obstacle, but can become a driving force if managed correctly.” This event was not merely a sharing session but also a crucial first step in building a “mindful working” culture at FSOFT, encouraging each individual’s sustainable development in both competence and emotional well-being.
