AIC Enhances Intelligent Inspection Solutions (I2) for Smart Cities Utilizing NVIDIA’s Advanced Technologies
Using the NVIDIA Metropolis framework and NVIDIA AI Blueprint for video search and summarization, AI Research and Development Center (AIC) has enhanced its Intelligent Inspection Solution (I2). With the capacity to process large volumes of video data, this AI-powered system is essential for insurance companies, municipalities, and transport authorities to effectively manage various smart city infrastructures.
With the vision to address all the costly challenges in infrastructure management, AIC has drastically enhanced its Intelligent Inspection (I2) solution. By automating the detection of asset degradation, vandalism, and safety hazards in real time, I2 enables authorities to quickly gather precise data without needing on-site personnel. This automation optimizes resource allocation, reduces operational costs, and enhances the efficiency of asset management.
As cities expand and age, maintaining this vital infrastructure becomes increasingly challenging, outpacing traditional methods. With millions of public assets and infrastructure requiring constant oversight, the need for enhanced monitoring solutions has become increasingly urgent, especially in the face of natural disasters. These events cause widespread damage, disrupting infrastructure services and costing low and middle-income countries over $400 billion annually. Governments, responsible for a large share of public infrastructure, bear the burden of funding service recovery and rebuilding efforts. With I2, they can respond swiftly and effectively to infrastructure issues, including post-disaster recovery.

To achieve such advancements with I2, the AIC team chose to utilize NVIDIA Metropolis and NVIDIA AI Blueprint. However, integrating these state-of-the-art technologies into AIC’s product was no simple task.
Dr. Toan Nguyen Huy (ToanNH33), Head of Industrial AI, AIC, reckoned on his team’s journey to such an achievement: “The biggest challenge for our team is to integrate our product to the NVIDIA ecosystem. NVIDIA Metropolis and NVIDIA AI Blueprint are the newest technologies from NVIDIA. Thus, it takes time to understand the technology, gather our insights, and make the most out of NVIDIA’s amazing products.”
Despite such challenges, within just three days, AIC managed to enhance a scalable product to become suitable for extensive city infrastructure utilizing components such as NVIDIA AI Blueprint’s stream handler, NVIDIA NeMO Guardrails software, and the CA-RAG (Contextual Answer Retrieval-Augmented Generation) module. The team has developed I2 into advanced inspection solutions that can accurately detect incidents and analyze large volumes of video data within the tick of time.

Looking ahead, AIC plans to continue enhancing its Intelligent Inspection Solution by leveraging NVIDIA technologies to further improve AI detection accuracy and minimize processing time, setting a new standard for smart city and industrial applications. Additionally, AIC will apply NVIDIA’s technologies to develop products to optimize models and continue resolving complex problems in various fields such as Software Development, Business, Banking and Financial services.
