Aspiring to be a PM of million-dollar projects?
The 2025 MegaPM Training Program, designed to cultivate elite project managers capable of leading high-value projects ranging from several million to tens of millions of dollars, has officially launched. This exclusive program, developed and delivered by FSOFT’s leaders, aims to equip project managers with advanced skills, strategic thinking, and the confidence required to spearhead large-scale projects.
This year, the program continues to be guided by Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Đông, CDO FSOFT; Mr. Vũ Tuấn Mạnh, CDO of FPT Automotive; and Mr. Dhiraj Bhandary Thiruvale (BCC.COE), an expert in project management. Additionally, numerous leaders and managers from various FSUs and BUs will participate as instructors and mentors, providing practical insights and guidance throughout the program.
The program has garnered significant interest from FSOFT employees since registration opened through FSUs. Cucumber has conducted an interview with Mr. Vũ Tuấn Mạnh, one of the key members of the MegaPM 2025 program, to explore the offerings and share insights with FSOFTers.

What are the most important criteria to become a true MegaPM?
The key attributes of a MegaPM include strong leadership, vision, and a comprehensive set of project management skills – such as excellent organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and team progress tracking. Quantitative management and budgeting skills are particularly essential. Additionally, effective communication, negotiation skills, an open mindset, and maintaining both physical and mental well-being are crucial qualities of a successful MegaPM.
How does the MegaPM 2025 program differ from previous years?
Mega PM 2025 will introduce an expanded range of practical exercises derived from real-world experience in million-dollar projects previously undertaken by Coaches and Mentors. These exercises provide participants with more opportunities to apply their skills and handle real-world scenarios, including:
- MegaProject Simulation: Hands-on training in managing the challenges of large-scale projects.
- MegaProject Case Studies: Learning from high-risk real-world projects and applying best practices.
- Language and Presentation Skills: Enhancing communication and leadership abilities on a global scale.
- Mastering Tools like EVM, Microsoft Project, and Power BI: Developing proficiency in essential project management tools.
These exercises require participants to manage project scope, create comprehensive plans, develop detailed schedules, and assess the economic efficiency of different options. This approach helps PMs enhance their cost management capabilities, enabling them to make data-driven decisions rather than relying on intuition or unsubstantiated assumptions.
Throughout the program, coaches and mentors will support PMs by guiding them through exercises, sharing perspectives to stimulate critical thinking, and providing encouragement to help them overcome challenges during the learning process.
What advice would you offer to participants to help them maximize their learning experience from the MegaPM program?
Building a team of MegaPMs is one of the program’s OKRs. However, becoming a MegaPM requires years of practice and experience to achieve “Mega”. Participants should not expect to confidently lead million-dollar projects immediately after completing the program. Success is achieved through long-term dedication, hard work, and persistence – there are no shortcuts or “one-night miracles”.
