EBS leader achieves PfMP certification in just 2 months
Recently, Nguyễn Trí Thái, BU Lead of EBS.RTM, has impressively achieved the PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) certification, joining an elite group of four international certification “hunters” at FSOFT who possess the complete set of PMI certifications (PMP, PgMP, PfMP). Remarkably, Thái earned the PfMP certification in just over two months after acquiring the PgMP certification in March.
The PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) certification, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), is designed for senior portfolio managers. As the highest-level certification among PMI’s eight certification programs, the PfMP is globally recognized and highly prestigious.
To qualify for this certification, a portfolio manager needs a minimum of eight years of project/business management experience and must pass two rounds of review by senior experts before taking the exam. The PfMP exam is at a high level, covering a more extensive range of knowledge than the PMP.

When asked about his exam preparation process, Mr. Thái shared candid insights: “After completing the PMP, I realized its practical value. Riding that momentum, I decided to pursue the PgMP and PfMP to enhance my BU management capabilities. This year, I also aim to join FSOFT’s PMI Program and PMC to share my experiences with younger project managers”. He attributes his success to the combination of the company-provided course materials, relentless effort, and strict self-discipline, which were crucial in conquering the challenging “triple crown” of certifications.
“Learning is the quickest path to enhancing one’s value,” he has often said. As a leader, despite a busy schedule, he manages his time diligently to balance his primary work responsibilities with daily study. He emphasizes the importance of continuous learning to lead effectively and bring practical value to his team and company. “I hope my colleagues recognize the importance of learning and manage their time to earn certifications. But just talking about it is empty; I need to lead by example. That’s the most effective way to encourage them”, he said.
Mr Thái’s journey of “Level-Up” serves as an inspiration and motivation for many, demonstrating that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible.
