FPT Awards First-Class Star of Honor for Record-Breaking Contract
On the morning of November 11, during the Group-level briefing, FPT officially awarded the First-Class Star of Honor to the C99 project team from FPT Americas under FPT Software. This honor recognizes the team’s outstanding achievement in successfully securing a record-breaking contract worth USD 225 million.
This victory not only plays a crucial role in bringing FPT Software closer to its 5 GIGA target but also strongly affirms FPT’s capabilities on the international stage, advancing FPT’s goal of becoming a world-class company.
The journey to this achievement is the result of more than 4.5 years of relentless effort involving over 1,000 FPT “warriors” from various countries worldwide. SEVP of FPT Software, Dang Tran Phuong, expressed: “This achievement is even more significant as we competed against the world’s largest rivals. The client assessed FPT as ‘Best of the best’ because we met exactly what they needed and expected for the future.”
The C99 project acknowledges the efforts of many unsung heroes—over 1,000 individuals who, over 4.5 years, made sacrifices and dedicated themselves to the project’s success. These included not only those on the front lines but also those in Vietnam who supported the client day and night. The project stands as a testament to FPT’s spirit of unity, dedication, and strong commitment. The “Core-team,” known for their steadfastness, stayed with the project throughout its 4.5-year journey, contributing significantly to its success. “The first members who started working on the project are still holding their positions. This reflects FPT’s strong commitment to the client under any circumstances,” affirmed Mr. Phuong.
Celebrating the achievements of the C99 project team, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasized: “The path to ‘big wins’ must start with smaller campaigns. Battles worth 50, 100 million USD were shorter and followed a similar strategic approach. This victory is one of ‘people’s warfare,’ with elements of guerrilla strategy, rather than total warfare. FPT has its unique approach. The competition was fierce, but if we stay determined, we will win.”
Continuing, FPT Software Chairwoman Chu Thanh Ha added that throughout the collaboration, even though the client changed CTOs three times, FSOFT consistently maintained their trust; convincing the client through its technological capabilities, flexibility, and proactive learning. This is clear evidence of FPT’s competency and reputation in the global market.
Pham Minh Tuan, FPT’s Deputy CEO, stated: “If we build and develop client relationships and sustain enough volume and work, FPT will secure major contracts. We need to continue on this path to aim for a billion-dollar contract in the near future.”
Before the decision to award the FPT Star of Honor was announced, Mr. Phuong shared that the C99 project team unanimously decided to donate the entire prize money to the Hope School scholarship fund, continuing to spread FPT’s positive values to the community.
Previously, FPT set a record with its largest contract to date (USD 225 million), once again proving its capability and reaffirming its status as a long-term strategic partner for global clients. Specifically, FPT Software will manage the client’s entire IT system comprising 75 software programs to ensure consistency and high efficiency across all operations. The service scope also expands into essential areas such as platform architecture, development, and maintenance, focusing on Salesforce and ServiceNow. This will support the client’s strategic business growth.
Additionally, the Managed Services project model demands higher standards for outcome management and work performance, particularly when sourcing resources from offshore service centers.
For this client, FPT/FPT Software has previously marked significant milestones in collaboration, such as achieving a 500-person workforce increase in record time and becoming the first client to generate USD 100 million annually for FPT/FPT Software.
