FPT Education and FPT Software collaborate to establish FPT Education’s office in Japan
The signing of the MOU marks a major advancement for FPT, particularly for FE and FSOFT, in their efforts to train and supply high-quality IT professionals to the Japanese market. This collaboration underscores the unity and synergy of FPT’s global workforce. Through this partnership, students will have opportunities to learn from leading experts, engage in major international projects, and immerse themselves in Japanese culture, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnam’s workforce.
The FPT Education office is projected to be located at one of FSOFT’s branches in Japan, in major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka – renowned for their strong educational systems and advanced technological development. For instance, FPT’s newest office in Japan, Mita, began operations on July 1st, occupying a spacious 3,000 square meters on the 33rd floor of a prestigious Tokyo building. This initiative aims to foster future collaboration in education, scientific research, and student exchange programs.
According to Dr. Le Truong Tung, Chairman of the Board of FPT University, opening an educational representative office in Japan aligns with FPT’s strategy of internationalizing education and developing high-quality human resources to meet the demands of a changing global landscape. “FPT’s educational representative office in Japan will serve as a hub for promoting international cooperation, with Japan as the focal point. Our primary focus will be on talent development, scientific research, and student exchange. FPT is making significant investments in AI, chip design, and semiconductors—fields where Japan offers immense opportunities for partnership, learning, and development” he stated.

The office will welcome not only Vietnamese students but also students from Japan, Northeast Asia, and neighboring regions. It will serve as a platform for FPT to expand educational activities, foster student exchange, and enhance cross-cultural experiences. Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to experience international education in Japan, while international students can explore Vietnam’s educational system.
Moreover, FPT plans to leverage its extensive network of partners in Japan and its alumni community to provide students with work, internships, and further education opportunities. Additionally, the introduction of Japanese language programs and teaching Japanese as a second language for IT students will facilitate greater student mobility and attract Japanese students to Vietnam.
Ms. Chu Thi Thanh Ha, Chairwoman of FSOFT, emphasized: “This MOU signifies a major step in FPT’s long-term commitment to training and supplying high-quality IT professionals, particularly for Japan—a market with stringent standards for IT engineers. I am confident that the synergy between FPT’s IT services and education units in Vietnam and Japan will not only lead to further advancements in developing high-quality talent with strong IT skills, proficiency in Japanese, and a deep understanding of Japanese culture but also demonstrate the unity and strength of the FPT community on a global scale.”
To date, FPT has established relationships with 180 education partners across 40 countries. Since 2009, students from Japan, Germany, France, Portugal, Thailand, North Korea, Myanmar, and Brunei have participated in FPT’s study and exchange programs. In 2023, over 3,500 students engaged in international experiences provided by FPT. With 20 years of operation in Japan, FPT stands as one of the largest foreign-invested IT companies in Japan in terms of human resources. FPT currently employs over 3,500 people directly in Japan, along with nearly 15,000 experts worldwide, providing digital services and solutions to over 450 global clients.
