FPT Latin Americas joins hands to take action for a sustainable environment

In response to FPT Community Day on March 13 and aiming for a green future, FPT Latin Americas members in Costa Rica have actively participated in a series of meaningful activities, ranging from wildlife conservation education and eco-block building to waste sorting and recycling campaigns, contributing to the protection of the environment.

These activities are part of FPT LATAM’s continued efforts to maintain the prestigious Ecological Blue Flag certification while fulfilling its environmental CSR commitments. The Costa Rica office regularly organizes educational programs to help all employees better understand environmental issues.

In celebration of World Wildlife Day, FPT LATAM hosted an Eco Team Building event that combined environmental education. During the session, participants learned lots of practical knowledge about the serious impact of plastic waste – especially microplastics – on marine species such as seabirds, fish, turtles and even human health. When swallowed by animals, these could cause digestive blockages, malnutrition, weakened immune systems, and reduced reproductive ability.

Beyond raising awareness, volunteers also participate in creating eco-blocks, made from non-recyclable plastic waste which helps prevent them from the environment and easing the risk of harmful microplastics release.

In parallel, FPT LATAM office continues to run its year-round waste sorting and recycling drives. In 2026, the initiative kicked off with the first transfer of collected recyclable materials, contributing to the office’s goal of building a cleaner, greener workplace.

Employees are encouraged not only to practice waste sorting at the office but also to spread its habit back home and share them with their communities. In just the first two months of the year, the program successfully collected and delivered 44.4 kg materials, including cardboard, PET, aluminum and plastic bags… to a specialized recycling facility, helping reduce waste sent to the surrounding environment or dumped in landfills.
