Millions of software for devices on cars and motorbikes were developed by FPT Software

FPT Software signed a cooperation agreement, in charge of all software development for many types of equipment of Nippon Seiki – Japan’s largest tachometer manufacturer approaching their 70 anniversary.

Under the agreement, FPT Software is responsible for the full life-cycle software development while Nippon Seiki focuses their resources on hardware development for global supply. FPT Software will start by building a platform and developing applications for meter products, applying the most modern technologies such as CGI (a tool to create user interfaces on the car’s screen, etc.) or MBD/Matlab emulator.

To meet the needs of customers, FPT Software established a strategic software center with more than 100 people in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. The number of staff is expected to reach 350 people in 2025 and 600 people in 2027.

At the signing ceremony, FPT Software Chairwoman Chu Thanh Ha shared: “Becoming a partner with Nippon Seiki, we commit to bring the best achievements to both sides. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, and the 35th anniversary of FPT, the cooperation between FPT Software and Nippon Seiki hopes to open a new chapter, contributing to promote the business and technological development of both countries”.

Mr. Nagano Keiichi, Managing Director and Head of Automotive Systems Design Department of Nippon Seiki said: “Nippon Seiki has always emphasized security, safety and technological innovation in their products. Working with FPT Software, we expect to achieve rapid technological advancements and important changes to serve the interests of customers globally.”

Before this signing ceremony, Nippon Seiki’s representative visited FPT Software’s technology campusestwice, respectively in May and June 2023. They expressed their impression of FPT Software’s capacity and scale in their field of interest. At the same time, FPT Software also presented the cooperation plan and received high agreement from Nippon Seiki, an important premise leading to the signing ceremony in July.

Gathering more than 3,800 engineers and experts in the field of automotive technology globally, FPT Software is currently a partner of dozens of the world’s most famous car manufacturers from Japan, Korea, and the EU. FPT Software’s automotive technology segment meets international AUTOSAR standards, growing by 40% in 2022, making an important contribution to realizing the goal of $1 billion in software export revenue by 2023.
