FSOFT people bring “new vitality” to children in Northern mountainous areas

From March 4-6, FSOFT Trade Union had a meaningful journey to Song Ma district, Son La province to exchange, give gifts, and spread love and new vitality to the upland children.

The high schools in the North are all difficult places, lacking in all aspects. Schools, teachers, and students here yearn for new classrooms, with basic teaching and learning equipment to ease some of the hardship and keep pace with current education.

“This trip has been cherished for a long time, especially when understanding the situation of schools in the northern mountainous region. We hope that each small contribution is filled with great meaning, and each beautiful gesture will be replicated to bring great value and invigorate life so that each difficult situation can be overcome and students here will rise strongly in the future”, said Vice President of Trade Union Nguyen Thi Hai Van.

The trip encountered many difficulties when the group had to go through the muddy roads in the wet rain. The wooden bridges had to be passed by step by step because they could collapse into the stream at any time…

The FPT volunteer group started from the early morning of March 4, roamed on a journey of nearly 400km until it was dark before reaching Song Ma district, Son La. It was raining, the road was bumpy so the volunteer group could only travel by the “wary” motorbikes of teachers and local people.

At school sites, FPT awarded 1 outdoor playground worth more than 40 million VND, 3 50-inch TVs, 8 magnetic boards, 1 projector, 1 set of outdoor speakers, more than 2,000 titles of books for children, 96 3-layer life jackets, 10 sets of towel drying racks for kindergartens, nearly 150 backpacks and school supplies, 1,817 servings of candy and milk for children, and many clothes and toys that parents FSOFT staff had donated.

Children receive gifts from the FPT delegationReceiving FPT’s sincerity, Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung – Vice Chairman of Song Ma District People’s Committee, Son La said that “There are nearly 100 classrooms in the district that are temporary, so now the district is focusing on education to build new schools for the children. I hope that FPT will continue to create favorable conditions for schools in the district to be completed and serve the children’s learning.”

Sharing about this trip, Khuong Thi Tuyen (FUN.HN) could not hide her emotions: “The difficulty of the road must be 10 times harder than I thought, the dirt road in rainy weather makes the road slippery, there are many many steep slopes causing the car to slip many times. Because of that experience, everyone in the group understands the hard work of the teachers working here.”

This is the third trip of Nguyen Van Nam (GAM) with the FPT volunteer group, but perhaps this is the most challenging journey he has ever experienced. “When crossing the muddy dirt road in the rain, I understood the hardships of teachers and students in the northern mountains. Hopefully, with the gifts from FPT, the schools will be revitalized.”

Sending gifts to teachers and parents. As planned this year, FSOFT Trade Union will organize many meaningful volunteer programs and continue to promote the tradition of spreading “new vitality” to “barren” lands.
