Let’s meet the new PgMP certification “hunter” from FPT Korea

Aiming to provide world-class human resources, FPT Korea promotes policies to encourage employees to challenge and complete important certifications in the IT field. As one of the first pioneers at FKR to obtain the PgMP certificate, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh (FKR.SI) has become a “role model” for FKRers to conquer this journey.

Joining FSOFT since August 2015, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh is one of the outstanding employees with remarkable achievements, such as being in the TOP 100 of FSOFT in 2017. With rich experience in various positions such as engineer, team leader, project manager, and so on, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh decided to challenge himself by joining FKR, conquering the Korean market after completing the Korean BrSE course. The latest achievement of the FKR-er is successfully gaining PgMP certification.

Let’s join Cucumber to get to know more about Mr. Minh’s secret to obtain PgMP with such “lightning speed”, in just half a year!

Cucumber: From your point of view, are there any obstacles that need to be noted in the path to achieve PgMP? And what was the secret that helped you get such impressive results?

Mr. Minh: PgMP knowledge includes part of Agile knowledge and mindset. Luckily, before taking the PgMP exam, I had a PMI-ACP certificate, so the knowledge I need to learn is less than the large amount of PgMP knowledge. Along with sticking to ECO (Exam content outline), it also helps me focus on the learning content. More important is the Review and Fill Gaps (RFG) process after the exam questions have been taken, from which knowledge will be supplemented and the correct mindset will gradually form. The correct mindset is crucial for PgMP test takers, because practical experience may be wrong or inconsistent with PMI.

Cucumber: Can you share with other “students” who are preparing for certificates at FKR in particular, and FSOFT in general, a TIP for passing the PgMP exam?

Mr. Minh: The PgMP exam is mainly situational questions that people with the PM role must choose. Good reading comprehension in English is also a plus point to help you have more time to focus on keywords for situation analysis. The number of questions in the PgMP exam is huge, so during the study process, you can divide into 50 to 100 questions for each RFG with practice tests and plan for yourself to be able to focus on doing 180 questions, gradually getting used to the pressure of the real exam.

With his spirit of studying and working hard, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh is a shining example, not only for his colleagues at FKR in particular but also an inspiration for all FSOFTers in general. Wishing you will accumulate more outstanding marks in your career!
