Meaningful impact from simple acts

“Even the smallest actions can lead to big changes” — this is the belief that Carmen Adina Tudor (FPT LATAM) holds close to her heart throughout her journey in community service. For her, volunteering is not only a way to support those in need, but also a meaningful opportunity to connect, share, and spread kindness, creating lasting, sustainable values for society.

One of Carmen’s most memorable experiences was volunteering at Banco de Alimentos de Costa Rica (Costa Rica Food Bank), an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste. There, she and other volunteers helped sort, inspect, and recover packaged food to ensure that still-usable products reached vulnerable families.

“It was incredibly moving to witness how food that would have been discarded could instead become a source of hope and sustenance for people in need,” Carmen shared.

Earlier in her career, while working with IBM Service Corps in Shenzhen, China, Carmen also actively supported startups by helping them improve their services and offering business strategy consultations. She provided hands-on guidance in Agile and Design Thinking, and co-hosted community events such as “Teenagers and AI – STEM Reading Sharing” and “Women Leadership Workshop”, aiming to inspire tech-oriented youth and promote women’s leadership.

When asked how she balances work with her passion for volunteering, Carmen emphasized the importance of time management and setting clear priorities.“I’m fortunate to work with colleagues who are supportive and understanding, which allows me to engage in community initiatives without compromising my professional responsibilities,” she noted.

For Carmen, giving back is not only meaningful to the community, but also contributes to her personal growth.“ CSR activities have taught me invaluable lessons from teamwork and empathy to a deeper understanding of the challenges many communities face,” she reflected.

Today, Carmen is an active member of the CSR Committee at FPT LATAM, working alongside like-minded colleagues to promote meaningful causes and contribute to impactful community initiatives.
