Meeting between FSOFT Chairwoman and Canon US opens up new prospects for FSOFT
Recently, at Canon US’s headquarters in New York, FSOFT Chairwoman Chu Thi Thanh Ha had an meeting and dinner with Mr. Kazuto Ogawa and Mr. Yukinari Kaneta, CEO and CIO of Canon US – an important client of FSOFT.
Together with FAM CEO – Mr. Dang Tran Phuong, Mr. Pravin Tiwari (Head of FAM.ST5), Mr. Nguyen Van Thai (VP of FAM.ST5, Account Executive of Canon) and Mr. Doan Ngoc Huy (Delivery Manager for Canon), Ms. Ha met and discussed with the most senior leaders on the client side. Although it was not a working day at Canon’s office, when it was known that the Chairwoman of FSOFT had come to visit, Canon US’s leaders still enthusiastically arranged time to go to the office to attend a meeting with Ms. Ha. .
At the meeting with the client, Ms. Ha proudly shared about FSOFT’s open working culture, where members can freely propose and exchange ideas with the Board of Directors. Ms. Ha invited Canon’s Board of Directors to visit FPT headquarters in Vietnam in the near future. In particular, after hearing Mr. Truong Gia Binh – Chairman of FPT Corporation, talking about how he led FPT to develop despite all the difficulties, Mr. Ogawa was very impressed and wanted to have face-to-face meeting with Mr. Binh. The two sides agreed to hold a meeting when Mr. Binh visits the US. In the immediate future, they will arrange an online meeting so that the parties can have a chance to exchange.

Listening to the sharing of the Chairwoman of FSOFT, representatives of Canon US were very impressed with the stature and scale of FSOFT as well as the presence of FSOFT across all continents. Although only having established a cooperation relationship for the last 2 years, Canon US considers FSOFT’s contribution to Canon’s development very significant. Canon highly appreciates FSOFT people’s advanced skills in technology and expertise. FSOFT has affirmed its position when successfully undertaking and going-live the system that 2 previous major vendors had failed.
Working with Canon, FSOFT carried out an assessment in a short time to evaluate the entire eCommerce system. That involved senior members in the process of restructuring the entire requirements of the system, and providing designs for solutions to meet the strict requirements of business operations.
For the project team, the team members had to work intensely with a huge amount of work and participate in many online meetings continuously with the client during the day, plus there was time pressure to deliver on time before the year-end shopping season. In addition, FSOFT has rapidly replenished forces in all 3 regions in a short time, with more than 50 members participating in the project. The experienced veterans of the units have been gathered to focus on the big battle.
Some members even switched to working according to the US time zone to make the most of the time they could exchange with client. The members almost did not sleep to work at full capacity and ensure the project progress. On the client’s side, Canon is also committed to provide maximum support for the project members by responding quickly to requests from FSOFT to ensure that there are no interruptions.
According to the upcoming plan, Canon hopes to enter the top list of retail channels in the Americas, as well as carry out important programs in the 2021-2025 period. DM Doan Ngoc Huy shared that “We are very pleased that FPT and FSOFT have been present to solve Canon’s big problems. Especially, this year, FSOFT has successfully go-lived Canon’s very important eCommerce system.” .
From the success in the Canadian market and in making a good impression on the client, the project immediately went into deploying an eCommerce website for Canon USA with the expected go-live in April 2022. At the same time, the project team is preparing a plan in 4 Latin American countries to launch later this year. It is expected that by 2022, Canon will become a key account with a turnover of 10 million USD, and FSOFT will become a key partner in Canon’s major programs.
