Mini Hackathon: “Applying AI to Improve Productivity” drives GHC closer to 80% Devs using AI tools
To achieve the challenge of “becoming a leader in innovation and productivity breakthroughs”, GHC needs elite warriors capable of mastering new technologies to prepare for major battles and meet customer demands. This is why GHC continuously organizes workshops, training sessions on domain knowledge, artificial intelligence (AI), and recently, the Mini Hackathon program of GHC.DHM.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer just a trend; it is crucial for the survival and sustainable development of GHC and all of FSOFT. Therefore, the Mini Hackathon themed “Applying AI to Improve Productivity” provided a fantastic opportunity for members to unleash their creativity, tackle challenges, and apply AI directly at the event.
The applications of AI were skillfully demonstrated through the ideas and personalities of each team. The vibrant colors of these ideas painted a picture of the 2024 Mini Hackathon: an explosion of technology and the passionate, dedicated spirit of GHC members. It featured a clever combination of software development stages such as requirements, design, coding, testing, prompt usage suggestions, and simple, incremental delivery approaches for using AI.

Notably, the competition saw the participation of two international interns currently studying and working at the unit. Fabien Pineau, an intern from France who finished in third place with Seungyeon Han and buddy Nguyen The Thang (ThangNT34), shared: “The Mini Hackathon was an inspiring and dynamic experience. We explored the limitless potential of AI to enhance productivity. The event not only encouraged collaboration but also helped us quickly turn ideas into products”.
AI does not replace us; it is a valuable teammate that helps us achieve more, better, and faster. “The future of work is not about humans or AI, but the combination of both to create outstanding productivity with highly creative outputs. So, there’s no reason to hesitate in applying AI to your work right now!” said Mr. Tran Dinh Cung (CungTD), expressing hopes for a breakthrough in team productivity after the program.
As the BU leading GHC in productivity, GHC.DHM continuously shares materials and ways to apply AI in internal projects. Before the Mini Hackathon, Mr. Vũ Minh Hải (HaiVM), PM of the B.I project, organized a Tech Sharing session titled “Enhancing Productivity with AI” to introduce AI tools, reveal effective prompt-writing techniques for beginners, and demonstrate how to use AI in software development and platforms. Previously, team members had to pair programs to improve work efficiency. Now, it’s about pair-working with AI. The combination of human and artificial intelligence will enhance work performance, optimize processes, and create more innovative solutions.
The Mini Hackathon event not only encouraged teams to create and implement new solutions but also laid the foundation for a future where AI becomes an integral part of every project. Development teams demonstrated strong capabilities in integrating AI into current processes, helping to reduce completion times and improve product quality. This is not just a technological advancement but also a shift in mindset, ready to embrace and master technology to meet GHC’s goal of having 80% of Devs proficient in AI, doubling revenue every two years, and becoming a “world-class healthcare VI”.
