NRC x FPT AI Hackathon 2025 finals: Honoring the champions of innovation and creativity

Last week, the intense, creative, and inspiring competition day of the NRC x FPT AI Hackathon 2025 took place, with the enthusiastic participation of 8 teams, ultimately identifying the champions in the three major topics: Customer Experience, Productivity Optimization, and Data Analysis.

The judging panel throughout the event included Mr. Tim Ottersburg – Vice President of Technology at NRC, Mr. Frank Rossi – Senior Technical Director at NRC, Dr. Bui Ngoc Anh – Lecturer at FPT University, Mr. Duong Duc Hieu – AI expert from AI1, and Mr. Nguyen Tan Trung – AI expert from GHC. In the afternoon, the program also welcomed a special guest, Mr. Prajit Nair – Head of FSA, who delivered an inspiring message about the “Co-build the Future” spirit—partnering with customers to create the future through innovation and technology.

After the presentations and demos from the eight teams, the three outstanding representatives were honored as “Champions of Innovation” in their respective topics—not only for their exceptional technological skills, but also for their practical thinking and remarkable team spirit.

The AI Cuder team (GHC.DHM) won in the Customer Experience category with a methodical development strategy and a clear orientation: “Understand the business first, then code.” Team representative Mr. Ngo Trong Quan (GHC.DHM) shared: “When we received the challenge, we didn’t rush to code. Instead, we focused on thoroughly understanding NRC’s pain points. A good product must solve real problems first, then choose the suitable technology.” The group built a three-layer architecture including an AI-powered Ingestion Pipeline, Knowledge Graph RAG, and Multi-Agent System, all deployed on Amazon Cloud. AI Cuder’s solution was so impressive that NRC scheduled follow-up meetings after the competition to discuss practical trial opportunities.

In the Productivity Optimization category, the Zenkai team (GHC.FHS) took the top spot with an AI-powered software testing automation system, aiming for “Ship with Confidence.” Their solution combined five AI Crews: Planner, Generator, JSON Converter, Healer, and Shortcut, collaborating within the CrewAI model to understand requirements, generate code automatically, and self-correct errors. “We want to create a platform that enables businesses to release products faster and more reliably, with minimal risk,” said team leader Tran Nguyen Quang Huy (GHC.FHS). In the future, the team aims to develop Zenkai Cloud – an automatic quality operating system for enterprises.

The winner in the Data Analysis with AI Application category was the VEUP team (GHC.FHS), with a solution using AI to generate SQL queries, transforming complex data into intuitive insights. “Our team had clearly assigned roles: one handled AI, one focused on business and data, and two worked on the frontend. This synergy and focus on our goals helped us complete the idea on schedule,” said team leader Nguyen Minh Duc (FHN.BU9). The product has already been requested for a leadership-level demo to assess its practical applicability.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Tim Ottersburg shared his belief that many ideas presented at the event would be applied and developed by NRC in real products. He noted that the teams had truly dedicated themselves, not only technically, but also in terms of completeness and user experience.

Mr. Frank Rossi expressed that he was deeply impressed with all eight teams and their solutions, stating that every participant deserved recognition. He emphasized his admiration for the team’s focus and creativity achieved in just a few days.

Meanwhile, Mr. Prajit Nair highlighted the crucial role of human values in every success, stating that competitions like Hackathons not only foster creativity but also help each member grow and collaborate with customers in building the future.

NRC x FPT AI Hackathon 2025 has proven that, when AI is combined with the “One Team – One FPT” spirit, technological limits can be broken, which opens new doors for collaboration, innovation, and growth for FPT, its customers, and partners worldwide.
