Official Kick-off of NRC x FPT AI Hackathon 2025: The arena for real-world AI ideas

The competition brings together 8 teams from GHC, FHN, AI1 units, and talented students from FPT University, representing the youthful spirit, creativity, and drive to conquer challenges of FPTers. The teams will compete in 3 highly practical topics, focusing on bringing AI into real-life projects and delivering tangible value to businesses.

The Kick-off event was held this morning, October 27, at the Diamond Hall, FPT Tower, Hanoi. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tim Ottersburg – Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Frank Rossi – Senior Director of Engineering, representatives of NRC Health, along with FSOFT CDO Nguyen Quoc Dong, and BUL GHC.FHS Nguyen Van Viet and the competing teams.

The 8 teams participating in NRC x FPT AI Hackathon 2025 include: Ai-Fi (GHC.FHS), VEUP (GHC.FHS), Zenkai (GHC.FHS), AI Cuder (GHC.DHM), The Cassiopeia (FHN.NGT), 4AM (AI1), Dataclysms (FPT University), and Data Flow (FPT University). The teams will compete in 3 topics:

  1. Experience ChatBot – “Feedback to Insights”: Build a chatbot using LLM to analyze qualitative feedback from surveys, turning “feedback” into “insight”.
  2. Automated Testing – “Push with Confidence”: Automate testing and accelerate the software development process with AI-powered tools.
  3. Quantitative Analysis – “Ask the Numbers”: Apply AI to analyze quantitative data and provide consistent, precise feedback.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tim Ottersburg shared, “Hackathon is a journey of learning and collaboration. Here, you can engage in healthy debate, work together, and make decisions together — that is how everyone can become a better engineer in the future.” He also expressed his belief that the competition will be an environment for young engineers to challenge themselves, unlock their potential, and together create practical AI applications that add value for both FPT and NRC Health.

FSOFT CDO Nguyen Quoc Dong thanked NRC Health and the Organizing Committee. He emphasized: “The competition is an opportunity for all teams and especially the NRC ODC (GHC.FHS) team to hone their skills and develop faster, serving as a springboard for greater achievements. For FPT, AI is not just a tool, but a part of our long-term development strategy.” He also sent a message to the contestants: “Be creative, hardworking, open-minded, and take advantage of this opportunity to learn, share ideas, and solve real-world problems. I believe every team can make a difference.”

Accordingly, the teams will have 4 days to brainstorm, develop, and present their solutions at the Final round, which will be held on October 31 at the same Diamond Hall, FPT Tower. This will be an occasion for all ideas to be presented and to demonstrate the potential of applying AI to real-world business problems.

NRC x FPT AI Hackathon 2025 is not just a technology competition, but a journey to spread the spirit of creativity, learning, and collaboration between FSOFT and its strategic client, NRC. The event opens up opportunities for young engineers to rise in the AI-First era, where artificial intelligence is not just a tool – but the future of creativity and innovation.
