Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visits FSOFT Da Nang
On June 26, during a tour to Da Nang city, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited FPT City Technology – Education Urban Area and met with programmers of FSOFT and staff of FPT university.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang and leaders of the city’s departments and agencies. FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, FPT University President Le Truong Tung, FSOFT Da Nang Director Nguyen Tuan Phuong and many leaders and managers of FPT were present to welcome the delegation.
During his, the Prime Minister wanted to learn to learn more about FPT’s achievements after more than two decades since its foundation in Da Nang, as well as the recommendations of the Group’s leadership to promote breakthroughs at FPT Da Nang in the period of from 2022 to 2025.
Coming to F-Complex in Da Nang, the Prime Minister met with FSOFTers and asked them friendly questions: “Is the job exciting?”, “How much is your income?”; “How long was the training?”, etc. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong, representing more than 5,000 programmers working at F-Complex, shared about the branch’s activities and achievements. In 2021, FPT Corporation contributed more than 515 billion VND to the state budget, which accounted for one-fifth of the state revenue coming from the info-tech sector.
After the visit, the Prime Minister had a working session with FPT Chairman – Mr. Truong Gia Binh, and leaders of member companies at FPT Da Nang. Mr. Truong Gia Binh shared proposals and recommendations on policies and investment guidelines for FPT to quickly deploy projects to promote the development of high-quality human resource in Da Nang. The Group plans to invest VND 6,000 billion in Da Nang in the period of 2022-2025 and will continue to improve the education-technology urban scene to reach 10,000 programmers by 2024. FPT is also willing to share technology, knowledge and experience with businesses in Da Nang, including software enterprises, IT companies and other businesses that apply new technology trends such as Blockchain, Metaverse, and AI. FPT will accompany and lead startups on the journey to make Da Nang a world’s center for DX in the future.
Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee – Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, highly appreciated FPT’s contributions and goals set for Da Nang, affirming that the city is very interested in providing favorable conditions for FPT, such as support in site clearance. Mr. Nguyen Van Quang said that the city plans to propose to relevant authorities the policies of F-Complex centralized information technology park.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and highly appreciated FPT’s results and contributions to the software industry and human resource training in Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular. The Prime Minister hoped that FPT would contribute more to the development of digital transformation and continue to implement the side-by-side training and delivery strategy. That is contribute to the development of information technology infrastructure, create more jobs, and promote start-ups and innovation.
After listening to the sharing of FPT leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized three proposals for FPT in the coming period. First, it is necessary to continue to innovate in science – technology so as for technology to keep developing. Next, it is necessary to focus on digital transformation because digital transformation has been a part of everybody’s life. And third, it is important to diversify the supply chain and training methods for suitability. Finally, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hoped that FPT will create a healthy, lawful and efficient ecosystem to contribute to the transformation in provinces and across the country.
