Roundtable discussion on connecting training and developing IT Human Resources in Quy Nhon
On November 22, 2024, at FSOFT Quy Nhon, the roundtable discussion titled “Industrial Sharing for IT Lecturers at Quy Nhon” was held in an open and enthusiastic atmosphere. It was attended by leading professors from the Department of Information Technology and the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Quy Nhon University, as well as representatives from the FPT University IT Department in Quy Nhon. The event aimed to strengthen the relationship between FPT Software and universities in the region, while also seeking solutions to improve training quality to meet the growing demand for highly skilled ICT talent.
At the beginning of the discussion, Mr. Mai Thanh Tan – Deputy Director of FSOFT Quy Nhon, delivered a welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between businesses and educational institutions in building an effective ecosystem for education and recruitment. He also shared FSOFT Quy Nhon’s vision of becoming a strategic partner for universities, providing strong support in terms of both resources and expertise to develop high-quality human resources that meet the increasingly stringent demands of the IT industry.

Mr. Vu Van Dong – Director of FSOFT Quy Nhon, emphasized: “In addition to English, FSOFT is also focusing on developing IT talent with Japanese language skills. He also introduced the Bridge System Engineer (BrSE) training program, which is expected to be applied to students at Quy Nhon University in the near future, along with many attractive scholarship policies”

He further highlighted that FSOFT, as a bridge, will continue to accompany Quy Nhon University and FPT University Quy Nhon on the journey of developing high-quality IT human resources to meet the increasingly demanding needs of the labor market.
The roundtable continued with insightful sharing from representatives of Quy Nhon University and FPT University Quy Nhon. The universities raised challenges in updating training programs, keeping pace with the rapid changes in technology, and overcoming the gap between theory and practice. Several new directions were proposed, such as integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and other advanced technologies into curricula so that students can better prepare for the future.

FSOFT also provided perspectives from the business side, particularly in the process of recruiting and training young talent. Many newly graduated students still lack soft skills, teamwork abilities, and the capacity to address real-world problems.

Not only limited to sharing, the roundtable also proposed practical suggestions to strengthen the cooperation between universities and businesses. Previously, FSOFT had conducted several training programs at universities such as Campuslink, the Data Science Club, etc., to provide students with practical knowledge from technology experts at FSOFT. On the universities’ side, training programs will be adjusted to focus more on practical skills and the needs of businesses. At the same time, workshops and roundtable discussions between lecturers, students, and businesses will be organized more frequently to strengthen the connection between the three parties.
As part of the event, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tuan (GST Q7) introduced the topic “Multi-skills Project: From Zero to Hero,” which simulated in detail the process of running a project from when it is first received to its completion and achieving 100% customer satisfaction.
The event concluded with strong commitments, affirming that the close cooperation and partnership between businesses and educational institutions are the keys to promoting the sustainable development of the IT industry in Viet Nam.
