The GHC introduces a promising PM training program

Recently, at two bridges in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the GHC PMO organized the Kick-off event for GHC Next Gen 2024 to connect the community and career opportunities, nurture and standardize project management capabilities for potential PM talents.

Built upon an improved Mentor-Mentee model, the program focuses on 1:1 coaching, with the mentee at the center and the mentor playing a guiding role. The highlight of the program is to develop a customized pathway for enhancing project management capabilities tailored to each mentee. The training pathway for each mentee is directly advised by the mentor to ensure it closely aligns with the realities of the unit, is congruent with the developmental potential, and meets the mentee’s aspirations.

Additionally, within the framework of the program, the GHC PM community will engage in learning and networking through regular Workshop and Sharing activities organized directly by GHC BOM and guest speakers from FSOFT. These sessions will revolve around hot topics such as Leadership skills, Estimation, Lesson learned, Cost management, etc. Moreover, PMs will be advised and supported to participate in reputable courses to obtain international certifications and enhance their professional capabilities.

After gathering proposals and opinions from various units since the beginning of January 2024, GHC PMO has selected 20 promising mentees and proceeded to connect them with a team of mentors who are outstanding managers with many years of practical experience in FSOFT’s key projects. Speaking at the event, Mr. Doan Hong Ha, the program representative, stated: “One of the most important tasks of the program is to pair young promising PMs with seasoned mentors with 10-20 years of experience to minimize the gap in expertise. With the close guidance of mentors and the advisory board, we hope that mentees will make the most effective use of this opportunity to upgrade themselves, enabling them to absorb those 20 years of experience in a much shorter time.”

At the kick-off event, members of the program also enthusiastically contributed ideas to enhance the mentees’ experience and discussed topics they wish to explore in the future. It is anticipated that the first Workshop event of GHC NextGen will be introduced in early May 2024, featuring a variety of beneficial content for the PM community at GHC.
