“Go overseas or go under?”

After a business trip to India in 1998, Mr. Truong Gia Binh and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam were shocked to realize that this place would become an IT powerhouse.

In early January 1999, FPT Strategic Software Unit No. 1 – the predecessor of FSOFT was established. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam was appointed as CEO and Mr. Nguyen Khac Thanh and Nguyen Lam Phuong as SEVPs. The first “software export” contract was signed with Winsoft (Canada).

In November, FSOFT’s first foreign office was established in India by Khuc Trung Kien, Bui Thi Hong Lien and Pham Minh Tuan. “Export or die” was the slogan of FSOFTers during this period
