Foreign FSOFTers in TP.HCM and Da Nang experienced a “multinational meal”
As part of a series of activities to take care of foreign employees, “Day Two with Managers” was organized by the HRPR.EX Employee Experience Department in HCMC and Da Nang along with the FWA Resource Assurance department on August 3. The event was held in the “Happy Lunch” form at the VIP Dining Room (Saigon Chill) belonging to Trung Nguyen Coffee, 5th floor F-Town 3, and Ngon Bistro – F Complex Da Nang.
To a foreign employee, arriving in a foreign country not only causes inconvenience in communicating and adapting to a new way of life, but also raises many concerns about the personal development pathway in the company. Understanding this, HRPR.EX and FWA have held many cohesive activities to help foreign employees quickly integrate into the Vietnam lifestyle and smoothly start working at the unit.

Attending the cozy meal in the two cities were Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh – Chairman of FPT Software HCM and Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong – Chairman of FPT Software Da Nang, along with managers of related units. During the meal, FPT foreign employees did not hesitate to share about their personal lives as well as exchange about future career paths. The Board of Directors expressed their joy upon welcoming foreign employees into FPT Software and hoped that they would always view FSOFT as a multicultural and multiethnic “second home”.
Besides work-related topics, foreign FSOFTers also had enjoyable moments when participating in games to get to know each other, from which they clearly felt the intimate and relaxed culture of “mâm cơm” – the Vietnamese signature tray of shared food. In addition, with the wit and humor from the EX who organized the program, the employees was eager to practice saying “I love you” in Irish, chat about the culinary culture of Vietnam from North to South, and ask each other about their current tasks. 100% of the participants feel satisfied and expect the program to be held regularly.

“Falling in love” with FSOFT from methodical and impressive customer pitching sessions, the Indian guy Koppaian Ganesan decided to join the company in March this year. He shared that the language barrier and cultural difference were one of his difficulties when he joined the Software house, however, those difficulties were easily overcome thanks to the cohesive activities held by EBS and the company.
“The last Happy Lunch program was really a great experience and an opportunity for me to meet all the foreigners working at FSOFT. The program was organized very thoughtfully and professionally. We had a great time chatting and I especially loved the part where the staff (EX) encouraged us to share our country’s language and culture with each other.” In addition, Ganesan also openly shared about his career development in Vietnam with his manager.

Following “Taste Vietnam 2023”, this August, the FWA Resource Assurance department and HRPR.EX Employee Experience Department will continue to organize programs to experience and learn about Vietnamese culture for foreign employees working in the 3 regions. Specifically, depending on the working site, foreign FSOFTer will be led through different touchpoints that the organizers have specifically designed for each region. Foreign employees in Hanoi will have a trip to explore the beautiful Northwest land. In Da Nang, the Hue Citadel historic site will be the place to welcome FSOFTers to learn about the history of ancient culture through the process of formation and development of Vietnam. At the same time in Ho Chi Minh City, the program will take you to visit the heroic land of Cu Chi.
Towards the goal of globalization, over the years, FSOFT has strongly enhanced its activities of recruiting foreign resources. Through employee experience care programs such as “Day Two with Managers”, the Board of Directors and Management would like to listen to the sharing from foreign employees and gain a better understanding of each individual’s story to give career advice and motivate them to love Vietnam more, stay with FPT, and continue to contribute.
