The moon of sharing

This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, no matter how it is organized or how the stories are shared, is dedicated to children, especially those who have recently endured the floods.

The 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival is a particularly special reunion. Northern Vietnam has just gone through a historic flood, which directly impacted the lives, jobs, and education of many people. In several flood-affected areas, children’s school supplies and learning materials were either swept away by the floodwaters or buried deep in the mud.

This year, instead of hosting the lively bonding activities of previous years, most FSOFT units opted for simple gatherings. FSOFTers lit handmade lanterns and displayed colorful fruit trays with heartfelt messages, sending hopes for a brighter journey ahead for the children in the flood-stricken regions. Along with this, FSOFTers and various units also contributed funds to organizations that are supporting communities heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi.

Among them, GST allocated funds from their Mid-Autumn program budget to purchase school supplies to support the children. “Boxes of books, pens, and notebooks have been sent to the FSOFT Trade Union by GST. We hope these small gifts will give the children extra motivation to return to school after the storms,” shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai from GST.GMO.

In addition to GST, the GHC unit also called on its members to contribute to helping children affected by Typhoon No. 3 with the belief that every act of kindness matters and contributes to making this Mid-Autumn Festival warmer for the children.

In Da Nang, the FSOFT General Association organized a program to create a playground for FSOFT Small, while also bringing warmth to children affected by the recent natural disaster. At Hola Park, FSOFT Small students at F-Ville 2 and F-Ville 3 received meaningful gifts from the company. “Seeing our children safe and happy in the Hola environment makes us deeply sympathize with the parents and children affected by the floods. We hope that with the community’s support, the children will be able to return to school as soon as possible,” shared a parent of an FSOFT Small student at F-Ville 3.

At FHN.DLS, a special 2024 Mid-Autumn game was organized, where teams freely presented their ideas for designing Mid-Autumn feast displays. Each arrangement and design reflected hopes for a green and prosperous future. Meanwhile, at FSG, young children joined their parents in making lanterns during the “Hot Trend Lantern-Making” Workshop. “Amid the incomplete joy following the storm, FSG’s activities aim to ignite hope for the children. Surely, with the love and support from the community, they will confidently continue their educational journey”, expressed Ms. Luu Thuy Binh, a staff member of the FSG General Association.

We hope that the love, compassion, and mutual support from FSOFTers and all units will help ease the difficulties and ignite hope in the hearts of the children affected by the floods.
