13 Project Managers graduate from Mega PM course 2

The graduation ceremony for the second cohort of the Mega PM course was recently held in Hanoi. This program, initiated by FSOFT Chairwoman Chu Thi Thanh Ha, offers outstanding FSOFT project managers the opportunity to elevate their skills, preparing them to take on increasingly complex and large-scale projects.

This time, 13 PMs from FSOFT Vietnam, FJP, and FKR participated in the practical program under the guidance of seasoned experts including Belle Wong – Senior Advisor at FSOFT, Nguyen Quoc Dong – Deputy CDO of FSOFT, Vu Tuan Manh – CDO of FPT Automotive, and Dhiraj Bhandary Thiruvale – Project Management Expert.

The course content was compiled from industry-standard knowledge and the practical experience of the coaches, presented through terminology and key strategies. One highlight was the “7 takeaway points”, providing PMs with actionable insights that could be easily remembered and applied in their daily project management.

Additionally, the concept of “Resourcefulness” focused not only on workforce management but also on optimizing resources through flexibility. The “7 RCA questions” technique helped PMs practice analyzing and resolving issues by identifying not just the root causes but also the necessary actions, the responsible individuals, and specific timelines. With each session, the complexity of the scenarios increased, ensuring PMs thoroughly understood how to apply this technique.

The course also emphasized risk identification through Assumptions, Dependencies, and Constraints within projects. Under the guidance of Coach Vu Tuan Manh, PMs practiced managing scope in detail through a simulated project, gaining a deep understanding of the skills required to manage both project scope and product scope effectively. Participants also learned about relevant assumptions and dependencies, which is crucial for applying these skills in real-world projects.

At the graduation ceremony, the PMs tackled a challenging problem related to a large telecommunications project through a “Stage play”. By taking on the roles of various stakeholders, the participants demonstrated their ability to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting.

For 3 months, each study group presented different projects with varying degrees of complexity, showcasing what they had applied throughout the program. This enhanced the knowledge of FSOFT’s PMs and fostered valuable connections in their work. Graduates from the first two cohorts are now ready to apply what they’ve learned to improve current projects and prepare for upcoming opportunities.
