“At FPT Software, I’ve never once felt like I was standing still”
Having joined FPT Software back in 2008, nearly two decades of accompanying the company have shaped the journey of Mr. Nguyen Van Viet (GHC.FHS) through a proactive mindset, ready to step up and embrace challenges. That reward was not only recognition and encouragement from the company and its leadership, but also an added source of energy that strengthened his confidence to keep going together. Growing through the times he was “backed”
For Viet, the trust of leaders and customers doesn’t come from “flowery words,” but from being assigned the toughest, most demanding projects. Those are the turning points that force him to step out of his comfort zone and old ways of working to upgrade his own capabilities.
He recalls that at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, he and his team were tasked with rapidly scaling the Telehealth project for a U.S. client, from 5 to 70 members in just 8 months. The pressure of delivering while recruiting and onboarding, all while ensuring absolute quality, weighed heavily on him. But Viet understood that moment clearly. When the client decided to increase headcount and workload, it was a “bet” placed on trust. The team had no choice but to grow up fast, to live up to that confidence.
And the challenges didn’t stop there. Another grueling test of endurance, with an extremely urgent ramp-up requirement and the adoption of new technologies, came from the N* Health project (2024). During peak phases, PMs and leaders had to work relentlessly, 16 hours a day, to keep progress on track. That determination beyond the limit was rewarded. The project now maintains more than 70 onshore and offshore members, earned the client’s trust to add two more teams, and works together with the client to co-host an annual AI Hackathon program to strengthen the strategic partnership.
Above all, the milestone of integrating part of DXG into the GHC.FHS unit in early 2026 was, for him, a major organizational turning point. This combined strength has driven impressive growth for GHC.FHS, with experts and capable hands joining to share the load. For Viet, seeing the team become stronger, more professional, and full of energy on the front lines is the key lever that gives the unit confidence to pursue ambitious business goals.

Sustaining team trust through transparency and a self-learning spirit
Having navigated many ups and downs, Viet concludes that trust is the most valuable asset of any team in any context. To build solid trust, he chooses transparency and close companionship.
“When difficulties arise, a leader shouldn’t stand aside and just give directions. He has to stand with the team to untangle each knot. When leadership stays calm, stays close, and sees the direction clearly, the team can devote themselves with peace of mind. No one has to face the storm alone.”

Not only that, he also reminds himself to maintain a lifelong learning mindset. Technology changes constantly. If the person at the top doesn’t proactively upgrade himself, he will become the team’s bottleneck.
