CEP pioneered for sending long-term onsite teams to Brunei
Brunei emerges as a promising market, particularly in the energy sector with Brunei Shell, the country’s largest Oil & Gas customer. CEP has deployed a dedicated onsite staff to facilitate seamless coordination with customers, ensuring project progress and quality. Despite being located in Southeast Asia, CEP’s onsite team is pleasantly surprised by life in Brunei.
CEP is actively engaged in a significant project involving SharePoint migration. The objective is to maintain the integrity of a decade’s worth of data in the customer’s SharePoint, allowing uninterrupted use of both versions concurrently. This complex project, involving third-party software for data file management, necessitates extensive research by the Presales team to devise strategies that preserve complete data integrity.
According to Mr. Le Hoai Bao, FSUL CEP, Brunei represents a relatively new market for CEP and FSOFT. The customer, unfamiliar with working with a Vietnamese vendor, emphasizes the importance of the onsite/offshore model. Recognizing this, the Presales team underscores the need for a physical presence during the requirements understanding phase to build customer engagement and trust.

CEP sees great potential in Brunei’s energy sector and is committed to overcoming challenges. The project team fully supports customers by deploying onsite members to Brunei, aiming to build trust and ensure project success. Throughout a 6-month implementation period, CEP emphasizes a dedicated onsite team, demonstrating their commitment to direct customer interaction.
When presented with the opportunity to work onsite in Brunei, Mr. Vo Hong Thi, a SharePoint Expert and one of the five onsite members, eagerly embraced the chance for skill enhancement. He views the project as a platform to showcase high technical expertise and contribute to the positive perception of the IT industry in Brunei.
During the onsite experience in Brunei, Mr. Thi observes the slower pace of life, the emphasis on health and work-life balance, and unique regulations such as no phone usage while walking and holding handles while ascending stairs. The natural beauty of Brunei, with its extensive forests and serene landscapes, captivates the CEP onsite team. The cuisine, though affordable, features predominantly grilled and fried dishes, making the team yearn for Vietnamese food.
CEP acknowledges the cultural and lifestyle differences but recognizes Brunei’s technological potential. The country’s problem-solving ability, creativity, and innovation present opportunities for CEP and FSOFT to explore and conquer in this burgeoning market.
